Dabo recruits a lot of good young men. I really don't know how to feel about RN's situation. Being the #1 recruit in today's world with a family who provides no support is a difficult situation. It's probably better we don't have his drama in the locker room.

don't think we can say for sure, but here's my guess:

1. She wanted Robert to play with his brother at Ole Miss so that the family, which had been spread out over continents and states, could be closer together. From what I've read, Robert hasn't seen a lot of his mother since he was pretty young, so you can see how that would be attractive to both Robert and his mother.
2. Robert committed to Clemson without talking to his mother about it, and without his mother having been a part of the process. While it sounds like this would've been a fairly normal thing for Robert, as his mother hadn't been a big part of his life for years, I can understand how his mother might've felt betrayed and ignored by Clemson. If she wanted Robert to play with his brother, she might've felt that Clemson was ruining her and her family's plans.

If the family situation was the true reason, he would have gone to Ole Miss and been done with it. Why was she so interested in BAMA & LSU, but not Clemson?

the idiots who got on twitter, facebook and other social media and made fools of themselves insulting him and his family because he didn't choose the school we wanted him to. I get that we were all tired of the drama, but we don't know this guy or his family so I think it behoves us not to impute ill intent to them.
Of course, now you've got reporters who come on here trying to find embarassing comments because they don't want to do the hard work of actually reporting. So maybe the dummies on tnet contributed as well.
I also think Beverly was just never going to let Robert come to Clemson, or anywhere she hadn't already been involved with.

It's an open secret she was bought.
Quick and dirty version goes, Robert lived with his high school coach. Mom was a politician from Africa who was in the states less than six weeks a year. Robert and his high school teammates were strongly leaning towards Clemson, committed as a group to the Tigers...at which point mom stepped in and would not even speak to Clemson's coaching staff and forced her son to decommit...at which point, SEC schools became the only options Robert was looking at. (Figuring out why schools like LSU, UF, and Ole Miss were the only ones in the running from this point is not difficult to surmise.)
Eerily similar sequences happened as well with Demarcus Robinson, Carl Lawson, and Mont Adams. These players were also committed to Clemson - publicly or privately - and then did abrupt about-faces (again, with very little explanation, at least publicly) to the SEC. And other than UF, none of these teams were even particularly good. In the normal course of events, one would expect Auburn and Ole Miss couldn't have gotten near 5-star-rated out of state recruits after the seasons they just had...Auburn went just 3-9 and fired their entire staff, and yet a new offensive coach (Gus Malzahn) with a one-year record as a head coach (in a Sun Belt school, no less) was somehow able to sell two 5-star defensive recruits to sign with Auburn on the program's own merits? Ole Miss was even more unlikely...they just landed the #7 recruiting class in the nation, raked in five-stars hand over fist...after a 7-6 season than included a loss to Vandy. Hugh Freeze has long had a rep as a guy who colors way outside the NCAA's lines and when you see a statistical blip like the one we're seeing in Oxford it's pretty much akin to watching a Tour de France bike racer blatantly jam a syringe full of EPO in his butt in full view of the public and then leave a vapor trail right up L'Alp de Huez. Honestly, it just sort of leaves you shaking your head and wonder what exactly the purpose of the NCAA even is, these days.
Whatever, the schools in question aren't even troubling themselves to be subtle about what they're doing. There's a law of omerta - silence - in place within the SEC and the member-schools are no longer allowed to turn each other in to the NCAA (this is a policy instituted by SEC commissioner Mike Slive, who used to be a lawyer who specialized in getting schools accused of NCAA infractions out of Dodge) so the SEC has basically gone completely mustang. In the SEC, anyway, the Wild West days of the '80's are back in full force, and the NCAA's deregulating policies are only going to make it even easier for them to do what they want since basically unlimited numbers of people from each University are going to have unlimited access to recruits from here on out.
In other words: get used to it, folks.
Not a short answer, but there you go.

I don't know, but I suspect it has to do with the fact that we are not in the SEC. Every one else is trying to say its money, but I think that is just sour milk from our folks.

It is kinda like your teenage son going out to buy a car without your consent; the salesman sells him a car and you feel like he was taken advantage of by the salesman. I am very happy with what we got; and I think RN would have been a problem child.

i agree with the theory that she "felt left out of the loop", but to me, that is stupid, since she wasn't involved ,too much, in his life anyway.

I guess old "Southern money" that still exist down in Oxford (You KNOW where it came from):
Doesn't phase today's recruits!!
Rich Allumni down in Oxford....many of them decendents of prominent plantation owners (slaves) still carry alot of weight down in good ole "racially harmonic" Mississippi!
Add to that the Schools "Proud" Rebel mascot, it BOGGLES the mind that any non white athlete would even consider "Good Ole Miss".
Do any of these recruits actually care (or even aware of) where all those $$$ originated???
Figure that one out!!

She's an effin politician. A local politician goes global. Facetime. Free reelection campaigning. Whatever. She's a selfish power mongering bich with delusions of grandeur who snatches the camera away from a son she hasn't kept up with for a decade and hasn't supported in any manner since his birth.
Any more questions?
