I hope the best for him. Classy move to let him keep his scholarship. Pay attention, recruits. Clemson takes care of their own.

What exactly are stingers, and did they render his shoulder useless or something? Best wishes to this guy, though!

It's actually a spinal injury

that causes pain to shoot down the arm. After the pain there tends to be weakness and possibly numbness. They are frequent in contact sports.

help. I was able to take a former Tiger in when he got cut from a pro team and he got his degree. He was like another son (no, I didn't give him money just advice and direction to make sure he graduated, and it was after he was done with football). That is what TIGERS do. We take care of our own. Now, I'm off my soapbox and through patting my own back.

for allowing him to keep his scholarship. How many other schools would do this. You know who I am referring without me stating the obvious. Proud to be associated a university that is not "win at all costs".

Bummer, but thanks for being a Tiger and for contributing to our great team and to our great university. Hopefully this trouble ends now with no issues long term. May God bless!

I'm glad to hear that he gets to keep his scholly. I can guarantee that Spurrier would never be so kind. However, I have a questions. Is his scholarship moved from a football one to an academic one so that another player can be signed?

It always cracks me up when people make posts like this. Of course Spurrier would give him a scholarship. It's a great way to free up a scholarship of a kid who isn't good enough to play. It's no skin off the back of the coach.

So you're saying DeStefano's scholarship was cut to free space? The same kid who played against Georgia? Your logic is flawed my friend, but classy post by you.

"It's a great way to free up a scholarship of a kid who isn't good enough to play. It's no skin off the back of the coach."
Maybe you should learn how to type then, because this quote looks like you're saying he was cut, and didn't opt to leave the team for his own health.

Who said he isn't good enough to play?...

And judging from his Major League career, Jeff Francouer would have been better off going to Clemson. Maybe he wouldn't swing at everything. And maybe he would, that may just be the kind of player he is.

I did not come up with "Francoeur2" as a handle to honor Jeff. Francoeur is my last name. I'm still confused as to how a simple question about a scholarship has turned all this mess. Maybe I should just fake an injury and change my last name to Clowney - but I got to much class for that though.
