Who agrees with me- why? and who doesn't -why?

Aug 31, 2016, 11:20 AM

I think we play a conservative game as we are the better team and should win the game if we do not make unforced errors/turnovers. If we are conservative the game will be lower scoring. But that isn't really who we are. We run it, we throw it, we put up points. Thoughts??

I think we score early and often

'cause too many weapons.

The definition of awesome!

I think we open it up

Aug 31, 2016, 11:22 AM

we want to silence the crowd asap. And we have experience on offense and there is no need in reigning them in. Plus we have nothing to hide from any of our future opponents...let them live in the fear

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

I believe we play our game and impose our will in our normal way. Not scared of anybody we play this year. Nobody is better than Clemson this year.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's the opposite of what you do.

Aug 31, 2016, 11:23 AM

If you're the better team, you want as many possessions as possible. It's a statistics thing, the larger the sample size the closer to the truth you'll get.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Depends on your definition of conservative. The problem is

Aug 31, 2016, 11:30 AM

our offense is meant to run 80 plays a game, roughly 50% run, 50% passing. So, to run that many plays a game, you can't just do time management. Also, to make our run game and shorter passes work, you have to open up the whole offense to keep the defense honest. So, in a weird sort of way, you don't really have an option for making our offense conservative in the traditional since of the word. I think it will be opened up in the beginning. If it gets to the point where we put in Bryant at QB, it's possible he might have a more limited playbook. But, I expect them to want to get him passing to show he can do it if he needed to. It would be really hard to put DW4 in with his ability to read the defense and make decisions at the line and then tell him to hold off. I don't think that is built into our offense now.

We start with 65 toss power trap

and matriculate down the field.

The last play of the first half will be a statue of liberty play to Wilkins for a TD

We play conservative if we're playing in a monsoon.

Aug 31, 2016, 11:39 AM

Are you saying conservative like that or conservative relative to Clemson's attitude on a nice sunny day?

I might go along with conservative to a nice sunny day but never really conservative as in a monsoon unless there's a monsoon.

The strength of the Auburn D is the front 7 and their run defense. The gameplan here will not be conservative and I would except Clemson to come out slinging it.

Think back to the BC game last season, something like that.

leave conservatives out of this....

"No one knew we were overhyped until the season started." - Classof09

No, we won't play conservative unless it rains, only 10%

Aug 31, 2016, 12:18 PM

chance right now.

We take what they give us.

3 scores

Aug 31, 2016, 12:43 PM

And it isn't that close.

Dabo will have to call the dogs off. Malzahn could be fired by the start of October.

Essentially, Dabo is going to start becoming like Saban in terms of opposing coaches being let go due to them being unable to compete with us.

Our guys have been chomping at the bit for 9 months, Auburn is just in our way right now.

No reason to be conservative when you have better talent and trust that you can execute. We will do what we do, but call the dogs off late and coast to an easy win.

I think we put the pedal to the metal because

Aug 31, 2016, 1:46 PM

we want to make a statement at the beginning of the season. Plus we have to give reps to our younger guys.

We are the most potent offense in the country, we gain nothing by holding back other than people questioning how good we are.

Clemson 41, Auburn 17

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think we will be more conservative on our side of the 50

Aug 31, 2016, 3:18 PM

than at home, just to lessen the possibility of a momentum changing turnover early that whips up the crowd. But, if the offense is clicking, I say we still move the ball and score consistently. Then, once we are up big, the video game plays start happening.
