my DirecTV dish. I am using a round dish. Is there something I need to change or modify as far as the satellite settings are concerned?

The box must be setup for type dish you are using, or you will NEVER get a signal. Are you just having trouble finding a signal, or do you get it after twisting and turning the dish? If you get it after twisting and turning, then perhaps a signal meter from Radio Shack would help.

Make sure it's level. If the dish isn't level there will be no signal. I suggest a magnetic level or clip on to attach to your stand. That's what kept us from getting a signal our first year.

Make sure there is not a van or some other metallic device between the satellite and your dish...



If you are tailgating. On I-85, the SCHP will cite you for it.
