If Texas were to hire Peterson, that might be the best choice for them IMO. He has been one of the best college football coaches for the last decade. (at a University that previously had no tradition of winning)
I wanted Peterson at Clemson (badly) when Bowden resigned. Although, now that Dabo has hired Morris & Venables, I believe he was the right choice for Clemson.
I also used to assume Morris would get hired as the next head coach at the University of Texas, (when they gave up on Mac Brown) until I read that Morris graduated from Texas A & M. (making the chance of him getting hired at UT unlikely)
Peterson should be on the UT's top 5 list. (at least)
Dabo might be too, (money talks...) although if they don't have an interest in Morris, that could work out in Clemson's favor.

Being around a boat load of Longhorns, I would be very surprised for Tejas to hire Morris as HC. As OC with a BrBa drum of cash maybe, but they will demand proven results of a known HC for their next choice. One person not on the list is the one who would have gotten the job immediately, Mr Muschimp.

There are so many scenarios that could involve Clemson
1. Texas hires Briles from Baylor and Morris goes to Baylor
2. Same scenario as Baylor with Sumlin at A&M, Strong at Lousville.
3. Since Texas has issues on Defense and Florida has issues in offense, Muschanp goes to Texas and calls Morris or Morris is a candidate at Florida.
4. Texas offers Saban a 10 year 100 million contract and he bolts Bama. Bama calls Dabo.
