bug had run through us.....I don't know who all had it...but I can imagine it is tough to run routes, concentrate on the ball, make your blocks,etc.etc. Maybe we will find out who all was affected. We know Shipley was...and he gave it 100%.

What you're describing is not the Flu

The Flu is respiratory, not gastro.

I agree, but I don't think he needed to say that. It just kind of seems like an excuse in a way. Like he's giving a reason the offense didn't play better. Even if its true... just kind of let it go without saying anything. Great win....
Didn't seem to effect the defense even though they were hurt by it too....

Exactly. Best performance ever out of the Defense on the same team with the same virus

Yes sounds like we were fortunate in getting what we got out of some of these guys. Kudos to the staff for getting them ready to play. Flu is no joke.

Yeah, hopefully. But I really don't think it'd have changed much except the final score. I really don't. Both teams are who they are. Saying, the boys still got to watch the film and there wasn't much the coots could throw at us. They just don't have the personnel to compete. We probably turn a couple of the field goals into tds. The kids that didn't travel were hurt...

under the weather. We had two drops in one drive where we ended up punting I think. But, if those two EASY catches were made, we would have been on about the 15 or 20 yardline of South Carolina.

The drop by Olsen Patt on the slant might have turned into a big play. I would bet that was more just lack of pt more than sick. Kinda like the ship TD drop a couple years ago.
I definitely think the sickness hurt some. Probably would have lost us the ND or unc game had it happened in those games. So definitely agree with your original post. But I think Dabo knew how thin s car is that we didn't have to blitz or have any exotic schemes to beat them. Really was like playing wake or even fau.

There had to be something more behind that offensive performance

…I was glad to hear the unfortunate series of problems that the team had everyday last week.
I’m now even MORE APPRECIATIVE of the win last night.

No one on Defense played like they had the flu Spud ...

Sounds like the flu was a factor. But no offense folks, the Offense seems to have different debilitations every Saturday.

They should donate blood samples to help develop better flu vaccines.

I'm happy to say I've never had the flu after all these years, so all I can do is imagine.
