What is your preferred name for the chickens?

Aug 14, 2013, 10:52 AM

I like SCAR because eSECspn uses it and what they say goes in the SEC. Incidentally, if any teams history is scarred, it's definitely SCAR !

I came here to say SCAR, but you beat me to it.!

I like to think if as being a scar on the state

I also use SCar ... for multiple reasons.

A)Most of the names we use for them comes across as stupid and petty to other fanbases.
B)Its technically correct, and considered the proper abbreviation for them at the National level.
C) You know that it irks them to no end. It's similar to changing "The Ohio State University" to "An Ohio State University" .... just subtle enough to drive a lot of their fan base crazy.

USCjr... such a far cry from the tradition and history of that school on the left coast. Oh... wait... USCjr HAS no tradition or history. What was I thinkin'?

who's ever heard of a coot? Call them the ##### or the Chickens or whatever.

I'd like to get back to being able to call them losers.

I claim a higher level of emotional maturity than the majority of this board. To me, they are the Carolina Gamecocks, as they have been for 30+ years. Calling them "coots", "Scar", or"USCjr." doesn't rationalize away the results of the last four years. And please don't tell me the real "Carolina" in in Chapel Hill. It definitely is in basketball, but no way in football. I also think them calling us "Tater", "Redneck", "Clempson", "Clemmons", and "Deliverance University" is just as silly and juvenile. I apologize if I'm too mature for some of the middle school humor and name calling on this board, but my intelligence demands more challenges than mere name-calling.
