Dabo has never shied away from taking those with potential. Look at Ruke. He was raw, and now may become a high draft pick. We are in good shape for the near future in the OL, so this athlete could become a great player when we need him.

Yeah just like they say in real estate— location, location, location so for this potential, potential, potential.

Agreed, he is vey raw never having played a game, but we don't need him to start his first couple of years. So with his size and athletic ability he could be a real good one in 2-3 years. already has some good offers.

The offers that he has are those that will let him know if they will actually ever need him. Like as of now those offers are probably not committable offers....

Not saying this kid is going to do it.....but when a recruit tells the media..... particularly our media....that they're waiting and wanting a Clemson offer so bad and it would mean so much. Then they get blessed with an offer from us .....then they set their commitment date announcement for like the next week. Then that announcement day comes and they pick another college. Should have just left us out of the equation from the start.

Not just really speaking for us but I know this type of thing is done to other programs as well. Really....its one of those annoying processes of recruiting. I understand if a kid don't have a clue where they want to attend college and then later make their decision.......but the kids that know all along where they want to commit to should not create these sob story wish list by roping in the interest of other programs and they never wanted anything to do with them in the first place.

I get the drawn out process.... don't like it, but its the world we are living in. In the twitter/instagram world, any drama to create traffic and likes equals dollars.

For most of these young men, this is there one shot when they hold all the cards. Its a different story when they commit and show up on campus. Its their time to have the focus entirely on them and to be honest, at 18 years old, there is no way for them to really know what they want.

Let them enjoy the spotlight and just hope they have good parents or role models and the wisdom to get advice from people they trust. We have age and wisdom now, but think about when you were that age and some of the decisions you made. Can you imagine being 18 years old now in the age of social media where nothing is private?

We will be just fine.... we all just need the season to get here.

Never will understand these kids. Why would they want an offer unless they plan to accept it.

If a player says it unsolicited... it might mean something. If they're answering the question... what would an offer from this school mean? You're going to get a canned response, they tell everyone that's virtually meaningless.

Favour Edwin is a powerful outstanding prospect

And in a few years he could potentially develop a Peter Woods skill level that a handful of Bama/UGA/Ohio St/Notre Dame OL each year start with as freshmen. Competing recruiters are underscoring very successfully that Clemson OL do not play much in the NFL - 4 backup vets on rosters and one rookie. Clemson has competed unsuccessfully against the SEC and B1G for OL talent for decades. (Bama 15, Notre Dame 15, LSU 13, Florida 10, Iowa 10, UGA 9, Wisconsin 12, Penn St 8, North Dakota St 8.)

I would like to see Clemson coaches/recruiters expand our OL recruiting footprint to Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Dakotas, Minnesota, Midwest, etc. We are making inroads in Texas. These farm boy steam rollers from the midwest combined with Clemson's Defense and Offensive skill players would create a formidable win-win for the team and the OL recruits. The OL recruits would play for a team with a shot at a natl championship and love the Clemson environment.

This post from SocMan2® is 100% perfect.

We should be a desired OL school for the best of the best midwest talents (hotbed) and any others that are out there and fit our culture.

I think this kid is great, it's wonderful that he's just started football and has this much raw skill. But do we want our backup plan to be 'hope'? We have hit on (1 of 15) offers this class. We need to be going out and getting husky ninjas instead of whatever is left in-state.

We gotta be known as an O-Line school. We have the credentials to do it, we just got to make it a priority.
