The basketball program needs these renovations.

I hope it makes its way past "discussions only."

In my view, replacement is the way to go. It has already

Jan 31, 2013, 1:16 AM

been renovated, there is only so much you can do with it.

Littlejohn has served it's purpose well over its useful life, but I think we need to go with the replacement option.

I just hope we don't build an arena like SC's

Way to big for CU games. Littlejohn is small and traps the noise making for a very good home-court advantage. SC hardly has one with their 21k arena. No need to get too big.

Agreed. We don't need a much bigger arena, just one

Jan 31, 2013, 1:50 AM

about 10-12k, but with nice, modern amenities and revenue sources, like a level of private suites. Plus have a ring around the court for students.

What amenities are needed? Skyboxes ? Why most cannot afford

Jan 31, 2013, 5:03 AM

Littlejohn Does not need to be replaced use the money on something tat is really needed like a new athletic/general population dorm that atheletics stay in or something similar

You don't have to worry about that. The arena in Columbia

is in a major metro area and serves the entertainment purpose as well as SCAR basketball.

Ought to find a way to put folks in the seats first, after what I saw last game, it looked pretty barren!!

Totally agree. Can't have that bad a showing by students for rival GT and then solve it by building a 100+ mil arena.

I think replacement is the way to go. I will miss Littlejohn Colesium, having attended many games there and even getting 2 Clemson degrees there. However, replacement will speak volumes about the commitment Clemson has with basketball.

We don't have tradition to sell, so we need to sell something else. A new arena will show that we are not a football only school. The commitment, along with playing in the ACC, and the appeal of the university and town of Clemson could be the perfect storm for developing a fresh start for our program.
