Brad Edwards ESPN...

He just gave his top 10 and has us #7. Now I'm not big on polls this early in the year but this is is rediculous. He has Georgia at 8 and FSU ahead of us at 6. We have beat a top 5 team and FSU has yet to play a team with a pulse. On another note, Jesse Palmer said Braxton Miller is the most dynamic offensive player in America...really? ESPN never ceases to amaze me.

But even I won't agree with that maniac. That was the most ridiculous top ten I could have imagined after this (throwaway) week. Just goes to show the level of intelligence of a BCS analyst.

I do appreciate Oregon over Alabama at 1. Not nearly enough voters will have the cajones to move them down a spot.

For Barely beating a poor NCST team that almost lost to Richmond.
Baylor or Oregon or A&M would have put a fifty burger on them easy.
And we will be judged big time next week because ULM beat Wake and then ULM got killed by Baylor.
And we don't run the score up like those guys so for us it is FSU, now Maryland, GT, Syracuse actually looks good, and Usuk for quality win opportunities.
I would imagine we would drop a bit this week with everyone and their brother throwing up 70's on everyone.
We may be losing the beauty peagent, but we can grind out a Win in the overall war if we can stay on task...

we manhandle FSU. Keep grinding out wins and wait for the pretenders to stumble.

I agree actually. We don't ever run the score up. It's called sportsmanship and playing 2 nd , 3rd and 4th team. I feel the next three games will help establish chemistry with the first two offensive and defensive teams I think they need to play well into the third third quarter for the next three games regardless of score so we can develop cohesion. Go tiges!

We still have quality teams left on the schedule. If we win out, we will be in the NC game, guaranteed. Style points won't matter when there are only gonna be 2 teams at the most that end up undefeated.

I just find it confusing that we are lower than FSU in his book. How can that be? I'm assuming this guy has a vote in the poll. I'm all for them being ranked high and Maryland being ranked also. That would be two nice wins. FSU is nowhere near deserving of being higher ranked right now.

Polls are a mix of what you see and what you know

You see more from Oregon but I still think you know more about Alabama. You have to earn your way up and lose your way down.

Oregon's style points didn't help them

When they had to play a real challenge in Stanford they only cashed in the Chip Kelley offense for 14 points.

This is all Boise State's fault

Before them it was strength of schedule and the W. Now everyone is wondering what we should take from a big win or a close win. Now teams with a schedule no better then those Boise teams (UL,Oregon,OSU) are focused on how they win. While we grind out wins big and small on a schedule that looks harder than your average SEC team.

The bcs poll will take into account our strength of schedule Louisville and OSU will be screwed because of their lack thereof. We gotta win out We must play better to accomplish this go tigers

Our O isn't clicking, that's why FSU is higher
Sep 22, 2013, 2:16 AM

Even against SC State our O didn't really come alive until we put Stoudt in the game. Yes it was 38-7 or something at the half, but 14 of those points came off of defense.
That said, at this point in the season the rankings don't mean jack. Not many people have really played anyone. Next week is when the rubber is going to meet the road with a lot more teams getting into more meaningful conference play.
If we just continue to win regardless of how pretty or ugly everything will take care of itself. If we lose a game we're out of the NC hunt. If we lose to FSU we're out of the ACC hunt. If we only drop to FSU we can probably pull an at-large BCS bid.

This argument is like
Sep 22, 2013, 2:27 AM
|
|
The period of time leading up to the NCAA basketball tournament selections. Where espn will put two nameless faceless records against each other to compare(usually a good one and a bad one) only to reveal that the team with the good record is a school you never considered good and the bad record is Gonzaga. If we were in the SEC east we would in first place with the inside track to the championship game. The talk of this week would be about our matchup with the flawed Alabama program at the end of the year. They would be #1 and we would be #2 no questions asked until one of us lost.
