Looks like the ACC will have a team in the Citrus and Russell bowls

Looking at the CFP rankings, the ACC gets citrus and Russell bowls because the Big Ten will be in the Orange Bowl.

the Citrus and Russell because I would prefer Citrus. However, as I understand it the Russell gets the #2 pick and Citrus would have to pick the third team. FSU in playoff, Orange pick GT with number one pick and Russell will pick us with number two. Louisville will go to Citrus. Am I wrong? I'd like to be wrong about this.

Yes, I think you are wrong. Aaron Brenner wrote an article about this situation the other day, and he made it seem like the Citrus Bowl gets to cut the Russell Athletic Bowl in line if the stipulations are met to get an ACC team to the Citrus which they were, so I think we'll be in the Citrus Bowl.

How the hell did we get to be a conference with no bowl tie ins on New Year's Day? Swofford does some dumb sh!? Some times.

NYD doesn't mean jack as far as bowl prestige

there are only 3 bowls on NYD and 2 playoff games. There are just as big or bigger bowls that are on other days beside NYD. Of the 3 non-playoff bowls that day , the ACC is eligible for 2 of them(SEC and Big 10 ar eligible for 3, Pac 12 and Big 12 are only eligible for 1.

Normally, Russell Athletic Bowl gets first pick for the ACC outside of a possible ACC playoff team and Orange Bowl, but in the years the B1G goes to the Orange, the Citrus gets the first pick over the Russell.
