I really believe if Clemson can score more points than the tarheel team today, they will win the game.
To do that, they have to tackle that NFL-calibre tarheel qb before he can throw the ball to the intended target, or, before he can run for a TD.
The tarheel RB has been running for alot of yards per game and so making sure he is tackled as soon as he is handed the ball seems important.
The tarheels appear to have stopped playing what most people might consider a viable form of defense. This bodes well for Clemson's nascent offense.
However, Clemson's qb cannot throw the ball to the other team and Clemson's RBs cannot drop the ball while running with it so as to let the tarheels players retrieve it <<< these key points are very key.
Overall, if Clemson finishes the game eight points ahead of the tarheels, they will probably not only win, they'll also likely cover the betting spread.

Actually not true. There are teams who had the higher score but were later made to forfeit because of illegal players or some other issue. So, the teams with less points wound up being the winners

I don't think those games were converted to wins for the other team, just voided entirely.
