Riggs is going to auburn or ga tech, didn't have a good experience at our official visit.
I think we take 3 OL. I don't think Westphal is a lock, but I like our chances. I would expect the staff to move slow on the 3rd OL take if we get 2 in the boat ( O'Connell, Westphal) like, maybe wait until commits decommit in September when other schools have bad years.
We will take Gipson and Hampton if both want in. I think Texas for Gipson, but Clemson is still in it. Hope we get him, legit NFL corner. Hampton is a S/ nickel. We will take him as an athlete since we have 2 S already committed. If no Gipson, no additional CB take this class.

One year Dabo is going to shock us all and take a couple of Portal guys. Since we only signed 2 OL for this year and have only 1 commitment for next year, could this be the Portal year? You just cannot have too many OL because that is such a tough position and guys get injuries every year. Dabo always figures it out.

Westphal which gives us 2 for this coming year. We are only really scheduled to lose 1. So we are already walking a line as for as taking from other positions. Staff is evidently counting on attrition of 1 additional by taking 2. It has to be someone on par with the others if they go to 3. Just don’t see that happening now. They should wait to see if some things shake out otherwise next cycle we will be in the exact position as WR that everyone has been complaining about(having to stop recruiting certain guys). Now if so ol how Poe flips to Clemson, I’m sure they’ll take him but they’ll need a couple to leave with eligibility on the table.

that is gone I don’t see Mayes or Parks going anywhere. Don’t think Tate will have the status to leave early.Williams could be tired of the injuries at some point but I just don’t see 3 leaving at this point and possibly just 1. Could we take 3 if it’s the right 3rd- sure but that would likely force someone out the door. Likely a Howard, Tucker or Linthicum. You don’t force upperclassmen OL with experience to move on for rookies … it’s not like some of the skill positions

Jason Priester is pretty on top of this stuff for allclemson. He’s said the number is 3 for 2024 cycle.

exhausting eligibility or you start taking away from other positions. We are still 1 scholly over for this year as a team so intentional oversigning at any position is dangerous

Actually we can have too many OL if it impacts depth at other positions. We have 85 ships on the roster with 15-16 being OL

On the table to make room for some of these guys people are wanting. Particularly on the Oline and frankly I just don’t see the certain departures that would be needed to accommodate additional guys. Maybe come fall or January some decisions are made for guys to move on that free some space but the space just doesn’t appear to be there unless we are lowering #s at other positions.

That was my understanding but I asked some of my guys today and that’s what they told me, sorry for setting different expectations, it’s just what I was told at the time by someone.
