We Also Have Guys Coming Back....

Remember, the Tigers will have several key players coming back next year who played very little this year because of injuries....Will Taylor, Bryan Bresee, Joseph Ngata, Lavonta Bentley, Lannden Zanders. I might be missing a couple of others. And, B.T. Potter will be back. We will be fine.

But how can we get behind them when the get back coach is gone?

We will be fine next year it’s 3-4 years down the road that I am worried about. And say what you want but we are slowly dropping down the pecking order because there is no way us or many schools are going to be able to compete against some of these recruiting classes signed yesterday. Not sure if our best will compete with what I seen yesterday.

You nailed it. We are good next year, beyond that look out. This is not just a Clemson problem, this is a college football problem.
43% of the Top 100 recruits this year signed with 3 teams (TAM-16, Ala-14, Georgia-13). These three classes are off the charts. Surging are USC and Texas and OSU is holding steady. All have huge and/wealthy alumni bases to buy the best players.
If ever a year we needed #'s this was it. Between unusual misses (Shaw and Jalon Walker) and last minute decommits, and impact player departures to pro/graduation next December, 2023 isn't looking good. Thank god for CK. With the transfer portal, banking on developing 3 star talent won't be what it used to.
Despite NIL headwinds, somehow, someway we have to get our recruiting mojo back. Also roster management needs to evolve.

So… we just need to convince eighteen year olds that a genuine education in four years from now is way better than one million dollars now and partial credits in basket weaving.
No problem.

Bingo! For a program built on the pillars we have espoused, moving forward and navigating NIL and TP will be no easy feat and I am losing confidence that you can win national titles without selling your sole. If we want to stick to our currently established convictions, expectations may need to be adjusted.

I don't entirely disagree, but with the state of the game and current transfer rules, how can you count on ANYONE being on the team 3 years later. Heck, even one year. I think that schools that limit their use of the portal will have more of an impression on the families of the kind of players we want at Clemson. And if not I can frankly live with that. I want men who want to be Tigers, not starters on front runners. Let's not forget that what got us where we are today is the culture built be CDS and others. Make no mistake, coaches have absolutely passed up on some ballers over the years because they were not a good fit.

I was just about to post the same thing. I checked his IG and Twitter and no indication there…. It would be huge to have him back for his play and his leadership.
