It is considered a Holiday for the station since New Years fell on a Sunday.

But I figured since this is the prime time of the year, they would work. I mean, this IS college football's peak time.

And I don't want to hear them grip. I want to hear them explain why they keep predicting these Clemson blowouts (Georgia, Notre Dame, South Carolina now Tennessee) when it should be obvious they are jinxing our team.

On vacation to copy Government's protocol and example. Too many folks doing this I sense. Work ethic is no longer a driving force for many persons.

Nah, It's a paid holiday in the corporate/business world as well. When the Holiday falls on the weekend you get the next weekday off. Always been that way. Government jobs normally get more paid holidays than private entities like MLK Day or Presidents Day.

yup i work for state government and we get 13 holidays a year and then added in vacation and sick time.
