Two nights at the Tru by Hilton for Florida State game.

Good morning all,
We have a fully paid reservation at the Tru by Hilton in Clemson for Friday and Saturday night, but we have a conflict and can’t make it.
It’s a 2-queen bed room for $2000 total, $1000/night. I’m showing $1500/night+tax right now if you’re a Hilton Honors member.
T-mail me if you’re interested. We will change the hotel reservation to your name and credit card directly with the property manager.

Hotel prices for game weekends even against the directional schools are stupid these days. Plus they all know when it’s parents weekend or homecoming too so they jack up the rates.
Highway robbery out here unless you stay in like Greenville, but I get why many don’t want to do that.

It’s one room with 2-queen beds for two nights, Friday and Saturday, 9-22 to 9/24.

Believe it. We’ve invested as much as $6k in one home game. Since then, I started staying in Anderson and stopped providing tickets for my tailgate crew. Granted, I was selling my lower rated parking pass and buying lot 5 premium parking before I had enough IPTAY points.
I remember back in the 80’s, I’d park on the hill behind The Esso club for $10. Sell my ticket, scalp and elite ticket for $20. Drink beer like water at the ESSO and never spend $100. My catering spread for tailgating alone can get ridiculous.
We have Stub Hub to thank for the market blowing up. That secondary market allows legal scalping and continues to drive the average “get in” price into the stratosphere

There is NO way I would pay that in Clemson. I would drive home or either sleep in my car. There are 4 night all-inclusive trips to the Caribbean for 2 people that are less than that! Flight included.

You’re out of touch with what things cost for event weekends. If you want to stay in Anderson, it’s $400/night at the Hampton Inn. Do some research.
Also, I haven’t sold the room yet and am asking $1200 for both nights.
I’ll pencil you in as a maybe.

Haha…yeah…no. But seriously, was being a little facetious. Just seems incredible to me and I’m not sure I could even enjoy myself, even if I could afford it…but maybe that says more about me. As to the out of touch thing…maybe it’s true…my daughter (only, thankfully) is currently planning a wedding…talk about sticker shock! I may have to take out a second mortgage…

Yeah, I took a family of six to Maui and stayed in a three bed oceanfront condo in Kaanapali with a fantastic view for less than $7K for nine nights….and I bristled at that.

Yall would be shocked what parents paid to come for a weekend last weekend against FAU since it was parents weekend. I’m part of a couple parent groups, and it’s outrageous what people had to pay just to come visit their kid.
