Turnover in staff

Dec 11, 2021, 6:00 PM

I know most of this nonsense is being pushed outside of the Clemson family but seriously ... when coordinators leave Alabama (which happens seemingly every year), this is looked upon as what happens when people want to emulate your program. This is part of what happens when your program is on top - coaches come to visit your program and to see what you're doing and, yes, other programs come after your coordinators hoping to bring that same mentality, vision and culture to their place. South Carolina has done it consistently - why did they go after Lou Holtz or Brad Scott (who, by the way, was a fantastic OC during the FSU golden years). This is what happens with elite programs; Dabo, I'm sure, knew that this was eventually coming. We had the best paid coordinators in the country for a reason but it's tough to pay a coordinator enough to shut down $49,000,000. Dabo's not stupid - he's been around the block a long time. The "awe shucks" routine is funny but I don't believe for a minute that he's let any grass grow under his feet - and why should he? Do you think that any coordinator in the country isn't going to take a call from Dabo? He's going to get who he wants and he won't have to go to his second (or fourth) choice. Sleep well my brothers - Clemson has jumped into the big time with a national footprint. At this point, people will be slitting their wrists to come here. JMHO

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that your honest opinion will even sit a spell as it appears and been reported that the we will hire 3 coordinators from in-house without even conducting a search.

I don't agree with it, but I just don't think it's going to work out like we hope... I certainly Dabo proves to be a hiring savant but I don't think that Streeter has accomplished much as QB coach and the one game he helped coordinate was a disaster...

We need Dabo not to prove true that he believes too much in what he has set in place that he doesn't do self reflection and self evaluation very well...

I guess we're destined to "dance with the one who brung us". It didn't work out with Napier and he corrected it. Maybe this'll be the same, maybe not. If it isn't, it'll last a year.
