Can’t wait to see how this RB group carries a lackluster DJ through this season.

You love to hear this about a player, especially when they have the talent Ship has. There are a ton of guys every year that have the physical ability to be great, but the ones with that mind set are very rare. I have full confidence that Ship is going to have an unbelievable career at Clemson, and will be one of the top RBs in the nation before he leaves.
I had/have high hopes for Mafah as well. When I watched him play on TV and he rushed for (5 tds I think!) I was blown away. He has the size/speed to be very elite. I believe he needed a little more training than Ship, but possibly has a higher ceiling; which is incredible when you look at Shipley. I never want to see our players injured or missing time, but this could be a blessing in disguise. Even the best Runningbacks at any college don’t get the number of reps that Mafah has gotten this Spring, and I believe he will have a Yuge year this season.

Thanks CJ, thank you for not filling us up with coaches speak about Shipley, what you said about Shipley, is what we've all saw from the kid in every game he played in last season. A lot talent that needed coaching up on how to just settle into his position and allow the game to come to him. Barring injury, Shipley will sail through his time at Clemson being known as "one" of the best RBs to have come through Clemson!!!

Imagine being in the room with the two of biggest hearts ever to play for Clemson. I love CJ as a player, RB, representative of Clemson, undeniable love for Clemson, stubborn get it done attitude and great coach an I thought we might never see a player who was the definition of Clemson the way CJ is but Shipley Happens.( Christian Wilkins on defense)
We hit a home-run with Will Shipley and his name says it all because you name it he “WILL” do it.
I love Pace & Mafah both and agree Mafah has a higher ceiling on talent but we shall see how his heart is compared to Will Shipley. We have the best group of RB’s we have ever had and that’s a big statement considering the great Running teams and RB’s we have had.
It’s almost like ETN left and we picked up three guys capable of filling his ginormous shoes ?? . Imagine if They would have had a better OL this past season, we might have made it to the playoffs.
Now WRU has to retain its title with the evidence on the field too.
Let’s go Tigers!

Why are we still listening to ESPN? For years, they have underrated us and downplayed any achievements we have reached. We had a bad season for a number of reasons, so they can crow, but the reality is they have been wrong on us far more often than they have been right. We have a lot of new faces, and that adds to their wish for our demise, but I think our offense will do well, perhaps great.

We have had lots of great tandems

Austin and McSwain, CJ and J.D., Etienne and Feaster etc. but I think you would have to go back to Flowers, Flagler, and Driver to find 3 backs with the skill of these 3. Shipley has all the intangibles, Mafah is a traditional Bama style back with hands, and Pace may be the best "Football Player" of them all. If OL can be consistent and open some creases this is gonna be a fun year.

Hope you’re right. Any opposing DC in their right mind will try to stack the box as best they can and force the QB to make plays. Teams with enough talent to do so will be tough to beat unless we improve greatly from last season in the areas of play calling and QB play. I hope the bowl game was an anomaly for Streeter.
