We get 4 tds, 2 through tge air, to a TE and a. WR, and Shipley gets 2, and our dear Mr Potter gets 2 as well! Pyne gets a little lucky, but our D keeps them small. Clemson 34, ND 20

Good story. One inaccuracy is the record against Nebraska (shows 0-1). If my memory serves me correctly (because I was there at the 1981 ORANGE BOWL) our record against the Cornhuskers is 1-0.
Also clearly dating myself - but the history against the Irish goes back deeper for me. I was a high school senior making my official visit to Clemson in November 1977 for the game when the Tigers were beating the unbeaten and #1 team at the country at half time in Death Valley and the place was going crazy. We all know how it ends - and I have vivid memories of NDHC Dan Devine flipping off the Clemson fans after the game as he ran back to the locker room (amid a shower of drinking cup ice).
Fun times!

Dabo's record against Nebraska is 0-1 (lost to them in the 2008 Gator Bowl). Clemson is 1-1 against them

Thanks for the clarification. I had amnesia of that 2008 game.

Throwing things at visiting teams is so coot like. I started liking Clemson when my daughter moved to Greenville and chump Bowden stepped down and they hired Dabo. Dabo is first class all the way and throwing crap at other teams is chicken sh!t and I don’t care who they are. Coot like, very coot like.

Anyone remember "Devine will whine in '79"?

If you remember that, you are as old as dirt. It's a good thing I'm not old enough to remember it.

I’m old enough. I know a guy who played at ND and was a TE when Dave Caspar was there. He loved Ara Pareghian, but he said Dan Devine was a wuss. So, he probably did whine.

That was my freshman year. I had not followed Clemson football until that year. I remember thinking that the idea of beating ND was probably wishful thinking. It turns out it wasn't.

My husband (class of '64) and I were at that game in '79 with a group of Clemson fans from Aiken who flew to Chicago. We had a chartered bus to South Bend and when we were entering the stadium someone from Notre Dame asked us, "Where in New York state is Clemson?" We got no respect, but left as winners!
Our bus driver stopped at a liquor store after the game and we partied all the way back to Chicago. Needless to say, the driver got a huge tip at the end of the ride.
