TigerRama and fireworks

Jul 7, 2022, 7:40 PM

okay old timers and folks who have been fans for a good little bit: I was listening to the ROAR earlier this week and they were talking about fireworks and when is enough enough. It made me think about going to a TigerRama back in the 70s with my dad, an alum. We were in the stadium and they had a fireworks display set up on the visitors side. There was a malfunction at the first station and we watched a fireball chase the young person who was the official ignitor from the starting display all the way over to the hill. The whole show was over in about 3 minutes.
Unfortunately, my dad is no longer with us and I haven't found anyone who remembers this event but me. I think it was around 75-77. It was the most amazing TigerRama that I had ever attended. Is there anyone out there who might remember???

Don't remember that particular one but I went a few times as a kid back in late 70's-80s. Seemed like it was a buck to get in or maybe even free. Now it's like $20 or $25 for General Admission isn't it?

Tiger Rama in it's day was the premier homecoming event in college football. Like every thing else it has been corrupted by wokeism!!

I am pretty certain that this was the impetus to the entire fireworks conversation.

Would have loved to have seen that.

Fireworks used to be great....last year they were an absolute embarrassment to the tradition of Tigerama.
