Tiger Band to march down The HILL if I won lottery...in new

outfits...with 100 more members (all on schollies)..with more brass horns..and playing Tiger Rag three abreast as they came down the HILL..with the Football Team meeting them at the bottom instead..with their helmets held high in a salute..with fans going nuts.
Also, as the major donor from my $330 million lottery win I would "demand" they play some of the Beach Boys songs occasionally...like "Good Vibrations", "Kokomo" & any of the California Girl or Car songs.
Plus, I would like for them to do an Ohio State type dotting of the "i" formation where Band is doubled in the "O" with horns raised high as they pass each other on the rounded corners...
And, the Texas A & M formation is neat too to try where the entire Band goes into the end zone and then comes out one row at a time...and then marches down to the other end with a high step.
Oh, don't we need a tall male majorette with the long coat tails (like Illinois had in that Tampa Bowl) leading the way...with the Tiger just behind him?! Ha!!
What would you do for..and/or ask the Band to do IF you won the big lottery and became their main benefactor?!
Go TiGERs & Go Tiger Band...you both Rock!

I'm on board with 98% of this, but i don't think the Beach Boys are going to get our current group of players very pumped up

So would the "football team saluting the band" be a one time thing, or every game? A one time thing, sure, yeah, great. Every game, not so much.
And boo to the beach boys, we are in the foothills. Love me some beach boys, but not really sure that's music that fits either Clemson or football in general.

for playing at Tiger Game...but still maybe "Good Vibrations" wouldn't be bad before Coot game this year.
And no, the Band coming DOWN The HILL would be a one-time thing.
Go TiGERs!

I think the band marcing down the hill would be pretty cool. not sure the football players would like it as it has always been a sacred event for players only.
I like the Beach Boys, but not on game day. Metallica and Motley Crue (Wild Side) would be better fits IMO.

Way, way past time to change

the Clemson Tiger band unis. STOP the high schoolie-looking, European-looking "nutcracker" unis. The Texas Longhorn band has set the tone for unis for decades - time for Clemson to change.
I say, put the band in white pants, purple vest and orange jacket (sportcoat) and put an orange baseball cap on their heads with a white Tiger Paw.

It's obviously a slow day when (yet another unnecessary) Tiger Band topic appears on here.
I was unaware how many marching band professionals frequent the forums on here, either.
Truth is, Tiger Band is, in fact, larger this year. No, it's not by 100 members, but right around 30. We're gradually creeping closer and closer to 300, which is pretty fandamntastic for a (music major-less) school of 16,000. The massive bands that we encounter or see on TV come from schools much larger than us, who, more than likely, have huge schools of music, too.
To the OP: I understand that this is all completely hypothetical, but you would really like to copy other schools' traditions? Really?
As the old saying goes: Those who can't, scrutinize and castigate relentlessly on Tigernet.

consistently complimenting their make-up and performances. I don't believe for a moment that he was "scrutinizing" and "castigating" it, because I've seen his previous posts. If anything, he has been strongly supportive of the University doing MORE for the band. This post (to me) was one made in enthusiasm for the upcoming season and remembering the OP's previous posts, I didn't view it as you did. Regardless, it seems from your comments that you are connected to Tiger Band, and if so, thank you for your efforts, and GO TIGER BAND!

or Texas A&M's march into the end zone and back out one row at a time...
BUT, I was suggesting that our Tiger Band do some neat things like this ONCE in awhile as entertainment..something special & storied that other bands have made history on (as opposed to doing Broadway songs, etc).
Also, thought the running DOWN The HILL once by the entire Tiger Band would be fantastic, different, an honor never bestowed on any group other than Team, etc.
And, playing a Beach Boys song during half-time (like "Good Vibrations" would beat doing something fluffy from Broadway).
Go TiGERs & Tiger Band...you both Rock!
