Marriage has been many things over time, but I agree it has been based on procreation which in the case of gay marriage isn't a possibility (unless there is artificial insemination, a surrogate or adoption, but heterosexual couples can also use these procedures if they are not able to have a child naturally).
But marriage has often been a political tool and often times one man and many women (not just Mormons) in its history.
So, there is definitely a gray area here.
And when you introduce changes to the tax code and health insurance availability based on marital status, then you create the potential for discrimination.
So, it is so easy to say this is how it has always been and how it should always be. But it is not easy to reconcile that.
My view, Chick-fil-A sandwiches are delicious. The CEO (or whatever he is, owner?) should probably focus on the good things his company does and not try to be as controversial.

Au contraire, it is your side that must prove the argument, not I. The definition, description, and history of marriage is very well-defined and established. "Gay Marriage" is the interloper and you will have to bring better evidence than what you've presented to convince the vast majority of chicken-eaters otherwise...
