How did it get that way, what got it all started. It started bc huge money was allowed to enter the hands of teenagers through the means of college FB, and can say other sport also, but it's through the means of college FB and the teenagers being given millions of dollars without a single rule in place to help control the craziness that kind of money brings with it in the hands of teenagers. Most adults wouldn't know how to manage having a lump sum of a million dollars, yet it's ok to give millions to teenagers that are good at playing college FB....

I think this will result in a lot of money-fueled bad decisions that will alter lives for the worse. No doubt some for the better too, just to be fair.

I don’t see how this improves college football though. There has to be a better way to provide reasonable compensation to players, with an emphasis on reasonable, as long as the college is still in college football.

Adults (18 and over) are allowed to make bad decisions. People make bad decisions with money all the time. The industry does need to be regulated like every other major industry in the US and taxes paid. You can blame inept leadership for this mess. Was not hard to see coming

College football is just about over at anything other than the FCS level

or below. Of course the Service Academies. If doesn't have to be this way but I'm afraid it's going to take fans of teams across the country to say enough, I'm done, etc. Apparently it may be the only thing that gets the "adults" in charge attention.
