by an officiating/umpire crew against Clemson in a major sport, since the 1985 Maryland Football game.
Agree? Disagree? I've certainly missed a good many games over the years, but that's the last "blatant" one I recall.

Stuff like that should affect people’s ability to get assigned to games. Maybe there’s a shortage of umps but there #### sure is no shortage of people looking for ways to screw Clemson.

The game went to extra innings. In either the top half of the 10th or 11th, Kyle Parker hit a two-run home run. A thunderstorm arrived toward the middle of the inning. The Duke facility team had (conveniently) left the stadium so no one was able to place the tarp, not even the able-bodied baseball player. The storm passed, and the field was ruled "unplayable". And, the curfew for starting/completing an inning had passed, So, the final score defaulted back to the last completed inning. Of course, that was entered as a tie in the record. And, a spot (or a higher seed) in the ACC Tournament was still in question for both teams.
But, Duke got their comeuppance the next weekend and lost a series and missed the ACC Tournament.
That is how I remember it.

not sure if blatantly intentional or blatantly incompetent, but either way they were terrible! Look at the video from twitter, How can you review the video and not see the ball disappear behind the foul pole?
