The ACC doesn't have much to choose from

Dec 19, 2022, 11:23 AM

when it comes to conference expansion.

Notre Dame is expected to join the Big 10.

If we joined up with the remaining PAC 12 and Big 12 there would be some good programs but no blue bloods to speak of.

I would love to see us join the SEC but I think there is a better chance of joining the Big 10.

I have wished for Penn St., Baylor, Okla. St., and Texas Tech. or West Virginia to join the ACC. That would make an interesting conference in my opinion. I would never want us to join the SEC. Everything would be slanted against Clemson because we would be a step child to that conference. Notre Dame can do whatever they want.

No school will join the ACC because of the grant of rights fiasco.

The problem isn't so much the Grant of Rights (which is giveen to the ACC) as it is the contract that the ACC negotiated with ESPN - and ESPN has no reason to renegotiate it.

Of course, the problem with the granting of rights to the ACC is that the ACC made a stupid agreement for the ACC collective of teams - and for too long in time. It looked OK until the SEC and B1G did their deals.... then we looked like chumps.

Like to see us pick up TCU- Texas team , OK State, and Stanford- California team, and of Course ND to expand conference and improve tV contract. Would be great if that happened to have NBC to back the ACC and give us a big TV contract. What say you?
