It definitely put bama in a bad place with a freshman qb.

I remember chuckling when dw4 kicked it.

It was a good call by our coaches.

Absolutely did . The field flipped , and every moment but one after that popch punt went our way it seemed .

Basically as much as I loved our team and Dabo o wondered if he could outfox the fox. A few things Dabo did that led him there. Obviously recruited like heck and hired great coaches. But these are my few decisions that I think led to natty:

1). Building the trenches like Bama but an offense like no other. Allowed us to go toe to toe on d and win line of scrimmage on o.
2). Deshaun Watson kick. We had gone for 4th and gave up short field to Bama. Coming out second half Dabo knew he had to win field position. The punt as you said was HUGE!
3). Running an offense that could run 99 plays. If we run 60 or 70 in that game, the d stays in it. They were toast at the end.

Obviously others get credit but I give the hc some credit for all of the above. These decisions (plus many more) led him to be able to go head to head with Daban and win.

Not sure it turned it. Seems like after we held bama and they had the bad punt we got the ball back about where we would have gone for the 4th down. I look at it as going for it and not making it on 4th down would have been a dagger. The punt, defensive stand, and bad bama punt let us resume our drive to tighten the game.
