Yeah, feels like the writers wrote knowing this was last season
Roy is becoming a marshmallow
Has Ted come out yet?
The only characters that seems to have held true are Dani and Coach Beard

Also, a footballer coming out of the closet is a pretty big deal these days, I can see why they included that storyline. Now for Keeley, I think that is out of left field.

yeah, I was hyperbole for affect
but didn't it seem kinda forced that within 2 episodes, footballer, Keeley, Trent (who I think is more of a main character now), and had not been part of the storyline for almost 30 episodes prior?

When you were on walkabout. They’re just trying to check every diversity box they can now in lieu of logical, cohesive storylines.

Dude got cucked by his own therapist and vented his heart out to complete silence from his wife, and somehow it made him feel better.

He mentioned in previous season about how he felt the guy was always taking her side...therapist was playing 3D chess blowing up their marriage so he could swoop in.
Believe it's the same actor who was a teacher on Vice Principals HBO show, the actor seems to have the d-bag character down lol

This happened to my wife's mother...

MIL and her husband saw a church based therapist (a Methodist Minister) and he managed to guide them to a break up and then swoop in and start dating MIL. Shortly after, he left the ministry, moved the famiy away from all support structures (wife's maternal and paternal g-moms) on the promise of a new business he was starting. Arrived in TN, never started the business and spent all his time boning MIL with very little concern for the fact the house was tiny and he had a young step-daughter. She figured him out about a year and a half in and realized she needed to make any money that might be made.
For the rest of their lives together (she could not handle the stigma of another divorce) she despised him and he spent all his time destroying any friendships she might have outside their marriage to make sure she could never meet someone that would convince her to leave him. She was a really active outdoorswoman and loved to hunt and fish. After she retired from teaching, she decided it would be fun to get a job as a mate on a fishing boat and after about a month, he decided to follow suit. He got them both fired after 2 days. Just one of many examples.
That ######## is still alive too.

Plenty of reasons

1) the plenty-mentioned illogical diversity Hail Mary. 2) the plot lines have gone away from uplifting. I don’t know how this season makes anyone feel good. 3) characters completely getting watered down. Ted’s a shallow yokel now. Roy a softie. Jamie a loveable selfless Everyman. Random inclusion of Zava as a total pointless plot McGuffin.
Just weak writing.

We had a 20 post thread on it a week or two ago if you want to look. And no, it’s not the existence of diversity, it’s how cheesily forced it is into the plot line. Bad writing is bad writing. Keely’s current fling is about as logical to the story as Ted deciding to quit football and join a polka band.

Rebecca seemingly getting date raped by a Dutch creeper was uplifting too. It’ll be hilarious to see that clumsily tied into the “you’ll be with child” psychic prediction in an episode or two.

I remembered that whole psychic thing. They won’t abandon that prediction.
So either he’s a creepy impregnator or she will reunite with him this season and then the knock-up will occur.

But yeah, rapey too. Ugh.
Dayum. The more we discuss it the sorrier it seems.
And as for the team, come on. We all know whathisface (Jamie) is going to catch fire after his mentoring under Roy and the season will be saved and they will win the rematch against West Ham and Nate will be redeemed and Ted will go back to Kansas to be a dad.
LAZY A$$ writing. Day. Um.

Sadly, if y'all reached these conclusions in my absence, it seems perhaps le Lunge does not need APM. The herd wisdom is skrong up in here.
But alas, APM can't help but comment a little.
1) Yes re: diversity and it seems this is happening with every show I watch.
2) YES. The hook with the OG Ted Lasso was it helped us feel better during the COVID doldrums (pineapple percussions - OK, that was a good line). Even since Nate's heel turn last year it has moved away from all that we liked about it.
3) Yes. I always thought Ted was gonna hook up with Rebecca and you could see it coming a mile away in season one, but then an abrupt shift. And now we have characters having random Dutch sperm donors (talk about obvious) and turning gay after being anything but. And adding weak new characters that will never develop into anything.
FFS.

RB could easily get advance notice and a head start on upcoming engine regs that then get locked in for 6 seasons giving other manufacturers an inability to catch up, just like Lewis did.
