I’d fly him there personally if I could. Could avoid the awkward family firing at the end of year.

He will eventually take a head coaching gig, when he wants to, but it ain't gonna be TCU.
Tony ain't getting fired either. Why the heck would anyone fire the OC primarily responsible for being the 2nd best team of the playoff era?
Some of you have lost your mind.

"Primarily responsible"! What was Jeff Scott, Window dressing!? Oh and please explain to me the difference between losing my mind and an offense that is ranked 105th( or there about) in the nation with one of the top rated prospects in the nation under center?

You're just stupid. There is literally 0 evidence that he is "primarily responsible" for anything. You clearly do not know Clemson football, since you don't understand how important Jeff Scott was.

More of the same (TE) = more of the same for next season. Send the “OJT” assistant coaches with him that are struggling mightily to either effectively coach or develop our players.

TCU is a traditional football school in a Power 5 conference. Why would he not take the job if offered? Without head coaching experience, I can't see him getting a better offer and it is not like his stock is going up at the moment.

You mean the guy that claims Dabo is calling the plays when the offense sucks? That guy? Either we are paying him to do nothing or he has a serious problem accepting responsibility for his performance.

I'd love or it to happen, but I have a hard time seeing TE getting that job with how this season has gone. Maybe Dabo is putting in a good word for him in Fort Worth.

There are years of data which shows he is excellent so one year of average with cause will have no impact. ADs are not morons like message board posters

He was "excellent" because of TL. TE has one of the most talented offenses in the nation, but we're not even ranked in the top 100.

Good point.
Elliott could never take a QB not named Deshaun or Trevor and get the team to playoffs as the #1 seed.

And Saban is great because of a roster packed with 5* players and Bill Belichick was great because of Brady. There are no great coaches who only had bad/average players

Agreed. Like or Hate Sanders, he will draw insane recruiting wherever he goes due to the Primetime name/swag. Look at the recruits he pulled at his current school and the instant success they had.

but Tony ain't a preacher. He's not getting fired. I do believe there is a good chance he moves on to a head gig somewhere, not sure TCU is the one. Patterson pretty much laid bare the issues they are going to face, and it cost him his job, after an incredible run. They are going for a splash to try to help recruiting. I think Deion actually has a shot

Please please please be true! He could even take the whole offensive staff with him. Dabo could bring in an offensive staff to equal his incredible defensive staff. TE better get while the getting is good. His light is fading fast!

I’m also not a big Deion fan. I’ve lived 25 mins from TCU for 24 years. Fort Worth is a conservative place, I’d say it’s noticeably more conservative than Dallas. I don’t see Deion being a good fit there. TCU/Fort Worth is not a bad place at all to live…..zero state taxes.

At Cal...not so much.
Perhaps he's a better fit a some mid major type program as opposed to a Power 5 program which is why I'm not sure he'd have a lot of success at TCU.
Of course, with Texas and OU leaving the Big XII, everyone else moved-up two spots in the pecking order.

Interesting list. I hadn't thought of Deion and his Dallas ties.
Conventional wisdom is saying that Sonny Dykes is at the top of the list for SMU and TT. Whichever school doesn't get him will look at several others.
In spite of the troubles this year, Elliott is a logical guy for a school that is looking at a pool and has no clear leader.

Their casting a wide net to include all minority candidates that could be a possible fit and then they will go with the best fit based on his ability to move the needle or get the boat turned. Elliot has no HC experience and is presiding over a dumpster fire of an offense loaded with 4 star and some 5 star talent. If he can't get his own house in order why would someone hire him for a bigger job? With the addition of a new QB next year improvements are inevitable. Maybe in a couple more years he might warrant serious consideration as opposed to lip service. He's likely to be in Tigertown at least a couple more years.

I agree. I think this year is the start of the slide as bad as that is to say. I don't think Dabo has what it takes to fire Elliott and Elliott certainly isn't going to get a head position after this year. So we will have TE for 2 to 3 more years with similar results as this year. All that hat hanging on two national championships ended when Trevor left. The next savior has turned out to be a true bust and Elliott doesn't have the coaching ability to get the magic back. I'm still hanging on the mathmatic possibility that we can win our division but the reality is it's not happening. So I hope I'm wrong about our future but it doesn't look good right now. One thing I do know, if some drastic changes are not made at the end of the season we will most definately be having all of these conversations next year.

The thing to keep in mind is that they are not interviewing him for OC. Right now, he would not have a chance at getting a coordinator job at a good school. I'm not saying that this year is or is not TE's fault, but schools would most likely take a wait and see approach and go somewhere else for an OC.
The big thing is TCU is looking for a head coach. Elliot has been a part of building a program into a national powerhouse. TCU is similar to Clemson in a lot of ways, so it would make sense to bring in a coach that was on the inside for the development. People shouldn't be too quick to assume that TE's performance this year would have a lot of impact on an offer as a head coach.

My understanding is that it's Sonny Dykes from SMU all the way.
No way on Neon Deon Primetime. He's apparently buying kids hand-over-fist...at FCS-level Jackson State. (Heard this a couple different places now.) You're literally seeing multiple starters from D1 FBS schools leave...to go play at the FCS level under Deon. Very much doubt TCU wants any part of that circus.
