Did Helms not seem the more confident smooth better passing QB? He may not have been highly recruited but neither was Stetson Bennett

He looked ok against a fatigued 1-AA team. I’m not sure he’s a better QB than Cade. I’m probably alone in this, but I’m encouraged by Cade after yesterday. He made some nice throws. The mistakes must be corrected. He will be a different man by the last half of the season.

Even Taj played some stinkers his sophomore year. We tend to forget that. Deshawn wasn’t always perfect either. The difference is Deshawn had an unbelievable defense behind him.

Pine Lake I hope you are right. I do feel the lightbulb will eventually come on for him but he is a little scattered at this time

Correct. Cade is essentially a Freshman playing like his 5th game and only 3rd start. There are going to be some boneheaded plays.
I do have concerns about the offensive scheme as a whole as it still lacks the deep ball. This could also be Cade getting jittery and checking down too soon. Time will tell.

There is a lack of speed at WR or at least they haven’t shown it yet. The 3rd and 4th stringers looked better but by the time they saw the field CSU was gassed.

He definitely throws a pretty ball. He has a tight spiral, and can put some zip on the ball. If he cuts out the costly turnovers he will be just fine.

He’s a capable backup but we will need Cades wheels if we want to be great.
