Wellll....the CFP is a tournament, albeit a small one. There has to be a next round. A bowl cancelation does not impact the next game in line.

Correct. It is a thing. Non-CFP bowls are merely exhibitions.

The NCAA just amended the "Covid forfeiture" rule.

Covid forfeitures do not count as losses for SEC schools ... they do count as losses for non-SEC schools.
