So we start the year off with UGA in Atlanta next year

and then a home and home vs LSU the follow years. Those are tone setter games that can propel rankings as long we take care of business the rest of the year. All depends on getting the QB more confident and to a point where we finish drives and finish games off. Hoping to see that next level style step up, in the Gator bowl in a couple weeks.

I would love to see "next level" every time we take the field. Not sure a bowl game is the place you see it though.
I'm generally wary of these big "tone setter" games right out of the gate. They are indeed tone setting. up or down (re: the last time we opened with Georgia). You don't really know what you got that early in a game setting.
I also have the date with App St. circled. The Mountaineers live for those games. Don't be a Michigan or A&M!

Yep. Dumb to schedule App State the week after UGA.

Agree, it is great to play those games and is a great win to start the year with. It didn't make a difference for FSU in beating LSU this season. Having the qb out and 12 team playoff should be different. I'd rather have the home and home vs these one-off games to start the season in ATL or Charlotte where they jack up ticket prices 2X over a home game!

Then we should join the SEC. Clemson can't even determine its gametime! Remember those 12 noon games back in the day! Welcome to major network TV coverage! It will get worse as ACC struggles to get more TV $$$$.

Yep all Clemson games should be played on a college campus. Can’t stand “neutral site” other than Texas-OU and GA-FLA. Arkansas-A&M in Dallas is an abomination. Kickoff classics in NFL stadiums are an abomination. Amazing how they touted playing on the home teams campus for the playoffs first round next year when all they want to do is play in NFL stadiums.

It is a litmus test for Clemson. If we lose, forget the CFP. Clemson is not considered elite anymore. So a win is needed to change the narrative. UGA will be ready, but will Clemson? We should win 8 or 9 games next year. Unfortunately, this may become the new norm.

Doubt we will be ready for this in game 1. Too much re-building

to do on offense after 3 years of mediocrity. Hoping for a quick turnaround, but fear it will take some time for new players to settle in.

This right here. Don't think it will be beneficial at all for the ACC to schedule the SECs toughest teams . The playoff committee already said that if you win that game early, the SEC team that loses has a whole season to still pass you in the end and if you do the lose the game, your season is over
It would probably be smarter to schedule cupcakes wherever possible and focus on being ACC champ. That's the clearest path for ACC teams moving forward

We are better off playing UGA early

They are deeper than us right now
if we are going to beat them our best shot is early before injuries and general fatigue start to take effect
Or at least that's my logic

Dawgs need to rebuild too. Always like to play them early in the season.

I don't know that we will see much difference that soon. I think he needs a solid off-season of work and preparation and then hope he really comes out a different dude to start next season.
