So if the Heisman vote had been today instead of a few weeks

Jan 1, 2017, 3:23 PM

ago, would it have been different?
Lamar just had another ineffective losing performance. And DW4 just had another impressive winning performance.
Why not wait till after the bowls to get a complete picture of who the best player is?

Agreed. The voting system needs an update to reflect how the season is played

And, fire 50% of the lazy, bias and/or uninformed skumbags on the Heisman voting board!

Too many don't seem to keep abreast of players outside their region or care to.

Re: Heisman - needs an update to who votes as well

IMHO. Not sports announcers that don't even watch most of the teams games. They just vote on what they "hear" the majority is voting. People should flood the Heisman committee to lobby for change to their premise.

Here's the way the voting would have gone if all was done after the bowls (my opinion only):

1. Deshaun
2. Dalvin Cook
3. Alabama player of your choosing, I'll say Jonathan Allen
4. L. Jackson

No, writers are writers and don't know the intricacies of football. They see Jackson's highlights and numbers and they figure he's the best player. They don't understand that he is inaccurate, holds on to the ball too long because he either can't read a defense or wants to make a big play or whatever. They don't understand Watson's rushing numbers are down because we don't want our quarterback to get hurt. You ask any coach out there and they can choose any quarterback and i bet you unanimously, they will all take Watson.

Sure, if you make the heisman voting after the season, Watson would probably have 2 trophies but if these writers can't understand why Deshaun Watson is the best player in college football after 3 years lf watching him play, they just don't get it. You will have to ram it down their throat by winning the championship to maybe, perhabs open their eyes.

you have to look at the whole season

4th quarter blow-outs vs scrubs are the same yards as championships
