I like him in the backfield. I like how he runs with an edge. Having said that, he’s put the ball on the ground 3 times over the past 2 games, and how did he not just pick an angle and go to the end zone instead of trying to stutter step for 7 yards and getting tackled?

That’s pretty good, but it is concerning. Not near as concerning as DJ fumbling by himself while trying to throw a pass agains Syracuse, but concerning none the less. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over that.

I am not bashing Shipley by any means, but you can go back before last season and I said I thought Mafah had a higher ceiling. Mafah is big, fast, and agile for 230 lbs. Shipley is great, but I still believe Mafah could end up getting more touches by next season.

I think Mafah has more NFL upside for just those things you pointed out. Funny folks on here were comparing Ship to McCaffrey before he got going. Uhh no.

I expect Ship will be fine. Had not fumbled in his career until hurt his hand. Hope his hand heals quickly.
