SEC Talking Heads

Jan 19, 2023, 10:42 AM

One of the no name low profile SEC talking heads show with I think Greg Mac as part of the panel was an eye opener to what the SEC thinks and how these idiots skew things..."the only teams that Clemson played all year who were worth playing beat them"! Another panelist questioned this with WF & NCst & NC but he stuck by his guns...that's the issue that we have to deal with!

WF, NCState, & UNC all lost 5 games each.

by the end of the season our best win by a long shot was FSU, but by the end of the season we were on an opposite trajectory as FSU..........they improved..........we got worse.

we were 0-3 in P5 OOC games......so it's not far fetched to say that we were insulated by our conference.

We beat FSU like a drum...can't really quantify that vs. when we played them...we drummed the heels and it wasn't even that close...chickens by 1 with big cinco and Tenn running out of bounds to stop Cade...we'll be back but still the SEC gofers played Jacksonville State, Prayer View A&M, San Jose College for the Blind and Cushman Motor State...SEC still loves TAMU and they almost lost to everyone!

5 losses each....Just like 10 games on UGA's schedule next year. Georgia will play 10 teams that had at least 5 losses this past year. 1 game against 4 loss UT-Martin and 1 game against Tennessee. I bet that won't get mentioned on any biased SEC show next year.

according to the OP they weren't talking NEXT year........

Jan 19, 2023, 1:28 PM

UGA went 15-0 and National Champs
they beat South Carolina 48-7........and Tennessee 27-13

we went 10-3 and 0-3 vs P5 OOC opponents
we were beaten by South Carolina 31-30.........and Tennessee 31-13

There was no doubt in the differences b/w the two teams this year. UGA this year was much like us in 2018.....not too many "tough tests", but in the end we both pretty much steam rolled our schedule.....including the playoffs, so the schedule isn't as big of a deal when you're just that much better than pretty much everyone in the country.

Is there SEC bias on the networks??......ABSOLUTELY, but you also have to look at Clemson the same way you/we are advocating the "talking heads" to look at the SEC ...........objectively.

If you solely look at wins in a vacuum then we might as well include Troy on any Elite team discussions b/c they won 12 games.

I'm not taking anything away from UGA this past season as they were the clear cut #1 team in the country. I was just pointing out that I bet no one, on any of the SEC biased shows will say a word about their schedule before, during, or after the 2023 season.

I agree that our schedule was weaker than normal especially when you consider who we lost to. However, when are people on here going to learn that the SEC will never come out and say Clemson is a good team. They didn't even say that after we destroyed Alabama in the NC. All of their shows spent the following weeks examining the game and by the end of it all Alabama beat Clemson 125- 14. At some point you have to find your own joy and stop relying on an obvious SEC show to validate your team because that will never happen. Just like when people watch Finebaum and are surprised when he has nothing good to say about Clemson. The SEC will never like Clemson (unless they eventually become a member) and none of their promoters will ever make you happy with their comments. I don't know how to be any more plain than this.

They are correct. We got handled easily by the two best teams we played. I don't consider barely beating a so-so WF team in OT something to beat our chests about. Sometimes the narrative that we arent that good is actually correct.

So Alabama was ranked ahead of Clemson before and after the Bowls. Who was the best team they beat before the Bowls? 8-5 Texas? After the Bowls 11-3 Ka St? Yeah, they were better than anyone we beat but not Texas.
