Qwestion For The Portal Gurus

Seems like the vast majority of Clemson players who hit the portal don't seem to "stick the landing" and find success and what they were looking for. Other than Helms coming back to Clemson who has done well at another program?

Can't answer your specific question but success or lack of it is not a Clemson only problem. Almost half who enter the portal find a new team.

who fall into that same category. I recently read an article that said over 40% of scholarship FBS players who enter the portal do not get other scholarship offers.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Derion Kendrick is the poster child. Started on national champion UGA.

Chez Mellusi had a pretty decent career at Wisconsin.

Zerrick Cooper (Jacksonville State) and Chase Brice (App State) had good careers.

Tavien Feaster did ok at SC.

Kelly Bryant was ok at Mizzou.

There are too many failures to list, but those 6 above "stuck the landing"

If they get more playing time at their new school. I'd call that successful usage of the portal. They don't magically become better players just by transferring.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.
