New to this board

Sep 5, 2015, 9:08 PM

I am new to the board. I've always enjoyed the Tigernet articles (visiting the site when possible during football season), but I've never done the message board thing. I've got a lot more time on my hands now that I'm retired and back on US soil. Can someone explain to me how the pulse thing works? Also, I posted a rather heartfelt response on a "Daniel Rodriguez" thread and it has been deleted. I felt that my response was genuine and warranted. How do the politics work around here?

you will need to join RAG for protection, and there are rules to the board.

be fine.

You can try to be serious from time to time, but develop a thick skin and just roll with the punches.

What gets deleted, thread jacked, pointed and run away is up to the whims of the message board Gods.

Oh, and alternate spelling to everyday words....that'll make you welcomed favorite.

Sounds like the board is handled much like our government and the army (unfortunately). Times are a changin.

Posting a thread like you just did, looking for "points" to boost your pulse. I haven't looked at all your posts, but typically people who join and do what you are doing, are coot trolls.

I'm not saying you're a coot, but you smell a bit like chicken. HTH

Like I said, not saying you're a copy, but it's always strange when someone joins right after a game and posts a lot.

Also, like the McCarthy hearings, your refusal to denounce all things coot makes you a cootunist sympathizer.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's something in these hills.

Re: Question.

Sep 5, 2015, 9:40 PM

Not a huge Gamecock fan on Saturdays, but have had some top shelf brothers who were Gamecock fans. If you call them "coots", I'd laugh. Football is fun, rivalries are fun, but I'd say that I don't put a whole hell of a lot of stock in fandom when doing "real world" work. Does that answer your question?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wrong answer.

Sep 5, 2015, 9:47 PM

You need to start hating them.

So the fans on this board who care don't do "real world" work?

Charming.

Point parties = "I'm new to the board and served in the military. Tuff stuff but just glad to be here with u fine folks now" or "I wrote a hearfelt message about my fellow military brotheren Drod but it's nowhere to he found"

You know, just posting the pity type stuff cowards cling to for attention and praise (especially after downing Clemson and watching your pulse drip beliw 50%.)

Too soon, bro. Wait it out with a few "more realistic" Clemson sided posts before resorting to the "point parties"

Sep 5, 2015, 10:34 PM

your post prior to anyone RA'ing it...

You came in the topic informing the board of Daniel Rodriguez being waived, and basically sarcastically said stuff about not being surprised, blasted him about being a Purple Heart recipient, then bragged how you earned 2 in 2 yrs overseas, then blasted him again saying he was not a good representative of our University because he was on self promotion trip.

Several likely saw it, and RA'd it due to it seeming disrespectful, not so much "heartfelt"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

'Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?'

Sep 5, 2015, 10:37 PM

You will eventually understand some of the more esoteric phrases or references. For example, 'Germans' has become a general term to mean 'that's been covered before... a LOT'

there is an entire glossary, probably referenced above and I'm too lazy to look for a copy.

Have fun and watch out for Confessed Coot, I think he's a carrier for something contagious
