QB development @ Clemson.

Kelly Bryant did not get better and couldn't throw a ball. He was our starter. Hunter Johnson was a 5-star that didn't pan out. Trevor Lawrence was able to extend plays as a runner b/c of natural ability. Taison Phommachan was never really allowed to play. He was a 4-star. DJU was a highly rated 5-star. He's terrible. Cade was the #1 rated QB out of HS and he's not really allowed to play.
At this time, I have to ask: Who the **** is coaching these 4-&-5-star-QB's and ### haven't they been replaced yet?
Oh yeah. Brandon Streeter. The same guy calling our offensive plays this year.
The weakest link has been confirmed.
Dabo. Grow a pair and make the decisions needed.

Offensive side of the ball needs a complete overhaul.
The problem is if we win out....Dabo will stay the course.
And its very possible we win out.

exactly what i told my dad, last night. streeter is not the man for the job.. but, we could possibly play well enough to win out, acc champs and win a bowl to go 13-1... and, you don't fire staff members after going 13-1.

I believe Dabo will stay the course regardless.

His stubbornness in doing things his way has served him well at times, but it is also his Achilles' heel.

That same person you want replaced, is the one that recruited and helped sign all these QBs. Could be he needs help with the development part?

I wonder who is really the hands-on coach at practice? Is it Streeter or Boyd?

Generational talent has been overcoming our coaching

for years.
Deshaun and Trevor made our offensive coaches look really good.
If we're being honest, Tajh and Deshaun are the only two QBs we've had in the Dabo era who arguably improved during their time at Clemson. The others either plateaued or regressed.

Our coaches have become just as lazy and spoiled as our fans

Just my opinion, of course, but when Dabo got here, everybody was hungry, maybe starving is more accurate, to reach the potential that we all felt Clemson football had. Excellence was indeed the standard, and we assembled unreal talent and worked in a relentless, uncompromising fasion towrd that end. Our coaches and players maintained that mindset for several years, but at some point we got full, and weren't hungry any more. Raw talent carried us for a long time, but we'd lost that edge. You could see it, feel it, almost taste it. The coaching, playcalling, player development all started to slip, gradually, almost imperceptably in the moment, but obvious over time. Yet we still won. Now, here we are.
I don't "blame" anybody. Dabo is ultimately responsible, of course, but what has happened to us is natural, it's human nature. It's almost predictable. It is extremely difficult to maintain that kind of hunger and exellence over time. Dabo has let assistants go in the past, ones who were friends and who he respected. Dabo has made difficult personnel decisions in the past as well, and I trust he will again.
I read David Hood's piece on here about all of this, and I agree. Dabo sees it, knows it, and gets it. It may be tougher this time around to make the needed changes, becuase he's no longer changing what came before him and making it his own; this IS his own, he'll be changing and tweaking what he has built himself. Dabo has been very savvy and self aware all along in my opinion, and I'm hoping he still can self-reflect in that way. I think he can.

Kelly Bryant was average at best - he was a very good athlete, mediocre QB, staff got him to his maximum potential - look at his career at Mizzou. Hunter Johnson couldn't keep the starting QB job at Northwestern, smart kid, will be a very good coach, 5* high school talent, not elite D1 QB Trevor was 1st round pick, great stats, should have had 2 natties, not enough support to win it all his junior year - he got better at Clemson, you're an idiot if you don't see that. Pommachanh - Can't make 2nd team QB at GT - nuff said, we should not have recruited him, coaches could do nothing to raise his ceiling DJU - great HS QB, physical skills out the wazoo, does not have the mental toughness and football savvy to compete at the highest level. He panics and really has no confidence, I would say that the CU staff has worked their a$$es off trying to raise the bar - ain't gonna happen, not Streeter's fault. Cade - to be determined.
This was one of the most ignorant posts I have ever read here and that is really saying something.
