Put will taylor

In the slot and this offense could wake up. He's hunter renfrow to me. I understand Ross is there but Taylor has the swiftness to be there. Ross and Nagata will do fine on the outsides

I think they would if he was ready. Not an easy position and not his natural position to begin with. He’ll get there.

So I'm not crazy for the idea lol. He's also a punt returning Qb, u don't hear of that much! I think he'd be great for the position once learned.

Not crazy at all. I think he’s a natural for that position.

Isnt the plan to move him to WR anyway? It cannot be any harder to learn the offense at WR than at QB. If Taisun is 100% move him now what could it hurt.

Coach Swinney said the slot has been the plan for Will since he first laid eyes on him at camp a few years ago . . . Patience Grasshopper . . . the Slot is his calling and has been all along!!!

according to many here Dabo isn’t a good coach or talent identifier.

Wasn't Renfrow a QB in High School? How did he learn the slot so quickly?

I’m not sure it was day one transition for Hunter either. That and we have a lot of weapons at WR with more time in the system than Hunter’s freshmen year.

He redshirted and had an extra year to learn the position.***

Can you say redshirt? WT is playing his first year where HR sat a year. Any other questions?

I agree, but I would argue that it isn’t Ross’s natural position either.***

True, but the plan has been to get through 2021 with Will as a QB then transition. There is a lack of QB depth and we are loaded at WR. Ngata is a step away from housing every catch, Ross is beginning to dust the cobwebs off and EJ, Collins, Frank and the rest of our youngsters to boot. I can’t wait to see Will “Refrow” the opponents in the slot, etc but I’m not sure he is at Amari’s level yet.

That's my thought, put Shipley there along with the option for Jet Sweep and have Pryor or LynD in the backfield could cause confusion. I think Stellato is going to be a stud at the slot position. The dude is very talented. Dabo isn't ready for Will to move to slot but dude is obviously very athletic. Dabo loves this dude since he got the second series at wildcat yesterday.

...football savvy, shiftiness, and quickness to be a great slot WR. I swear he looks like an even quicker and more refined early career Hunter Renfrow. Hunter was a former QB also. Move Ross back to his natural position and let it fly.

He may be slightly smaller then Renfrow, but better.
Either he or Shipley (motion out from RB or come in for jet sweep motion) should be in the slot. Could be a great 2rb system with the amount of RB and WR we have, also added protection for DJU to take 5 seconds to get the ball off.
Maybe Elliott is a mastermind and is holding everything back for playoffs…

Stellato seems like he could play the slot too one day. Although he could play anywhere. He is pretty big and fast.

Yep, we need to ignore the coaches who are a paid millions of dollars to make decisions and listen to you instead. Dabo said he’s not ready, but apparently you think he is, so I guess we should just ignore Dabo correct? Of course I’m assuming that you recruited Will Taylor, you’ve watched him every day at practice, and you know him personally.

I didn't know till AFTER I posted the original comment that Dabo had his eye on Taylor being in the slot. Tigernet published a article AFTER my post yesterday. I don't keep up with every article and post. It was just a idea of mine from his play on Saturday.

Hopefully you mean he’s Renfrow in spirit…
Will Taylor is ~6x the athlete Hunter Renfrow is or ever will be. Not suggesting he’ll produce the same, similar or more success than Hunter, nor am I disagreeing you want to get the best athletes on the field.
Renfrow had a lot of success being the forgotten man for the majority of his collegiate career.
Will Taylor as a true freshman (who maybe arrived in the summer!?) can come into the game with you knowing the play & still have significant success.
(See a raw Christian McCaffrey as a better comp.)
That’s talent.
It will be interesting to see how they creatively use him moving forward.
