Similar to Mullen, McIlwain, Muschamp - early season success coupled with offseason successes in recruiting will lead to high rankings and hype, which will cause hard crashes back to reality against real competition. This rollercoaster will leave the fan base disgruntled and falsely bought into the hype, feeling as if they’ve underperformed. He’ll be fired midway through his third season and the UF cycle of undeserved hype and undue criticism in failure will continue.

It appears Meyer caught lightning in a bottle and realized it. Just feels like a challenging place to win consistently and a fan base that expects championship level teams every year.

He is a better coach then those guys. He gets the bes from his players. He will get high charter kids that will play very hard.

I hope you’re right. It is definitely a program that could use a clean up from a strong figure after a decade of impoverished culture.

He will be there 4 years at the most. Most likely, he’ll be gone after 3.

Gotta recruit better than the last few coaches inside fla.....it's the reason mia,fsu and fla has struggled....go look at the top 25 players in the state of fla, the three main schools have a combined 2 top 25 kids in their own state.....they gotta keep that talent home...
Fsu can't fire Norvell yet, because of finances, taggert buyout was huge, they can't afford another one
When they can, they will hire Primetime and he will get top 5 classes consistently and keep those kids in state....
Then and only then will you see a fla school back as contenders...
I don't think Napier can do it

Its certainly an interesting time in the state of FL. Norvell had a really good recruiting class in Tally, and Cristobal will elevate Miami's talent quickly.
You'd think the Gators would have the best situation given their large alumni base, facilities, etc. We shall see.

His first trip should be to a barber shop that is open on Christmas Eve and hit the Bunny Trail Monday...

Lots of success, easy place to win and recruit. SEC East one of the worst in the country, should have them winning 10 games consistently and fast. Seems to be a good coach who enjoys recruiting, should be easy.

I understand that he got a commitment (27 million?) from the administration to upgrade facilities and staff salaries. If true, they could be dangerous.

He will do OK. Probably knock UGA off as top East team. Bama will rule SEC until Nick retires.

I'm impressed with him. He comes across as well organized and well prepared for the job. He does not seem at all overwhelmed by the task. Although he has never been a HC at this level, he does have a solid track record of building a program and sustaining success.
As an FSU fan, I fear he may be highly successful.
But, with any hire you never know. Looking at their resumes Jim McElwain and Dan Mullens checked all the boxes.

I never saw Mullins as checking all the boxes. He was never impressive at Misstate.

After watching Florida play UCF, I’d say his first task is to improve the culture!
