Sophomore infielder David Lewis announced he is entering the transfer portal earlier this week on social media.

Clemson bio

2022: Hit .138 with five runs, a double, two homers, two RBIs, a .379 slugging percentage, .265 on-base percentage, three walks and two hit-by-pitches in 17 games (five starts as the DH) … hit a pinch-hit double and scored a run against No. 23 Miami (Fla.) on March 20; was his first career hit … hit his first career homer at No. 23 Wake Forest on April 17 … hit a pinch-hit homer against No. 22 Wofford on April 27 … No. 388 freshman in the nation in the preseason by Perfect Game … No. 74 freshman in the ACC in the preseason by Perfect Game.

Before Clemson: North-South All-Star Game selection … state player-of-the-year … three-time all-state selection … region player-of-the-year … set school records for batting average, hits, homers, doubles and RBIs … lettered four times in baseball at Blue Ridge High School, where he was coached by Travis Henson.

Don't know the story here but was a 1b type kid with good power. If you are relegated to 1b at this level you must be productive at the plate or a MIF or OF kid slides in for more athleticism. I really thought he would be that big bat this year or next but portal gets another one.

This probably means Grice is 1B and coming out of pen as some of us hoped.
