With success comes great opportunity, and jobs like Oklahoma don't come around often. This is the first real opening there in what, 22 or 23 years? With his background there, and track record at Clemson, he'll have an opportunity somewhere.
Ultimately, it seems that it will come down to whether they want someone with P5 HC experience. If so, he won't be "offered" the job. If they are willing to hire a first-time coach, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better fit for that particular program.
Oklahoma is going to be an interesting team to follow the next few years as they navigate those SEC waters while dealing with transfers and a depleted recruiting class for '22 and '23. They won't be the bully on the block anymore, but their recruiting profile will change with the new league, the same way A&M has.
