PAC 12 TV deal and possible 8 games

https://247sports.com/article/pac-12-new-conference-schedule-could-be-8-or-9-games-in-2024-213068860/amp/

Could this mean they are looking for a scheduling agreement? If the conferences are saying put then adding quality matchups is the only way to bring the TV network back to the table. The ACC could give ESPN late night games on the west coast and use dynamic scheduling to ensure quality matchups. The Pac staying at 10 teams means the ACC could maintain its games against ND each season. Seems like a win win.

I know we would like to play big names from the south but the SEC will move to a 9 game conference schedule eventually due to the 16 team conference. If they all want to keep 3 automatic wins a season, scheduling will get more difficult.

I believe our issue is not the automatic wins but the revenue we get from home games. I would like to see the ACC schedule games with the Pac10 as these types of arrangements are one of the few ways we can increase the value of our product.

Neutral site games are paying out ~4 M per team. This is roughly equivalent to football ticket revenue per game.

If the reports are correct NBC/CBS are paying about $350M each for ~15 B1G games a year. If the ACC/PAC could get 3/4 of that per game that is over $6M per school annually ($8M w/ the same per game payout) and every other year you still have $4M ticket revenue. Still works out to a $4-5M bump per season. It’s not SEC/B1G money but it doesn’t hurt.
