Would it be better if they mentioned Romneycare?

enough to deserve a vote. States have different authority and rights than the federal government. And the demographics of Mass vs. the country as a whole is different as well. Frankly, Romney's biggest mistake is not admitting that it was a huge failure and would be an even bigger mistake nationally.

Re: If you don't understand the difference you aren't bright

Jul 27, 2012, 9:20 PM

I understand the difference but the principals are exactly the same. The rules of Romneycare and Obamacare are exactly the same. Romney implemented on a single state and Obama implemented on the entire nation. But the Obamacare is based of Romneycare and the wording of the law is nearly identical to each other.

federal government doing national healthcare is no different than what Romney did are showing their ignorance. States have power and authority the federal government does not. For example, states can make you buy car insurance, the federal government can not. The feds do not have the authority to make you buy anything.

Mass is one of the richest states with one of the lowest percentage on minorities, yet Romney-care has been a huge failure and financial mess. One a national scale it is going to be disastrous.

Do you have a link showing how Romneycare is failing? Last time I read something about it there was 96% of the people have health insurance and it was fairly popular.

I'm not sure I believe you. I understand where you're coming from but Great Britain is a pretty diverse country and they just showcased their national healthcare to the rest of the world.

If not socialized what is a better plan?

I agree we need healthcare and insurance reform, but not via nationalized medicine.

I find it amusing that the Brits love their socialized medicine so much that they bragged about it to the entire world. I love the healthcare here. I do feel bad for the people who become bankrupt because of medical bills but that's their problem. Not mine.

Don't forget that GWB bailed out the banks too.

Don't get me wrong I hate Obama too. But GWB was awful as well. And Mitt Romney ain't going to be better.

TARP was critical the stimulus was not. W did TARP, Obama

Jul 27, 2012, 10:27 PM

did the stimulus. You are crazy if you think Romney will be bad. The economy is sinking right now, much of it b/c of all the crazy stuff Obama wants. Business wants certainty, right now we have tons of uncertainty. Obama is anti-business, Romney is pro-business. Clinton and many wealthy democrats have said Obama is clueless on how to run an economy.

W didn't cause the financial mess. He did things that helped mke it worse, but he did not create it despite what liberals and the liberal media want you to think.

After Carter we had 20 years of unprecedented economic boom. We were over due for a recession, which Clinton pushed back with some of his policies. The economy was starting to collapse at the end of Clinton's 2nd term. Then 9/11 and it all fell apart.

Clinton pressured Greenspan to lower rates that had already been low for years. Far too much cheap money in the economy led to the tech and larger stock market bubble. It also led to the housing bubble.

Clinton, Obama, and Barney Frank forced banks and Fannie/Freddie to make risky loans to unqualified borrowers, primarily minorities, in the name of social justice. This further lead to the housing crisis and the banking crisis.

And Clinton threw out Glass-Steagall, which was key in creating the financial crisis because it allowed banks to speculate, get into derivatives, get into stock trading, and merge with investment firms.

Clinton created the mess, Bush made it worse, and Obama is moving us towards financial collapse. The economy is very fragile right now and getting worse and the national debt has exploded under Obama.
