2 years at a SC Technical College (SCC is still free to qualified students) then a guaranteed transfer with the minimum gpa.

If you can’t maintain the necessary gpa at a tech school, you probably wouldn’t have made it at Clemson anyway.

An even better deal is to enroll in the tech scholars program and get paid for 30 hours per week while in school getting valuable work experience to save up for your last 2 years at Clemson.

Yep it’s a great way to still get your Clemson degree with much less debt to pay back if you get student loans.

None of our kids attended or will attend Clemson

which is something of a scandal in what is a Clemson-heavy clan.

They dont have the programs our kids want/want.

And I wish all could have been persuaded to do two years in JUCO before moving over to the universities they chose/will choose.

BUT, the program you mention notwithstanding, many universities are on to the ploy, and are making it harder for JUCO kids to transfer in. Or so Im told.

In the Hampton Roads area of Va there's a similar program/agreement between Old Dominion and 2 of the better Tech Schools, Thomas Nelson and Tidewater CC. They'll accept 100% of the credits for transfer, but the kids have to sign up for sponsored programs at the start. It's a cost saving initiative because those 2 years are less expensive than 1 semester at ODU.

I don't know if any of the other local schools will accept the credits or not, Hampton U, Norfolk St or William & Mary.

Than the freshman year at a university. It really annoyed me to essentially repeat my senior high school curriculum. That said, there is the adjustment to college/maturity factor (which finally kicked in sometime my junior year! :) ), but the programs mentioned here accomplish the same, far more economically.

Universities REALLY need to assess their value proposition...because that's eroding quickly in a lot of ways.

You should just learn a trade. More money out of the gate and job security.

General college degrees and becoming more irrelevant every day.

ALLweatherfan Jr has had this plan all along.

He never even applied to Clemson. He just planned on going to Tri-County and transferring. He’s not even in the bridge program but the bridge students are in the same classes with him.
I think the reason he did his was because he heard me say all his life that it would’ve been so much easier on me if I had done it that way.
