Interesting Ponderous Thoughts

I was discussing fan bases with a colleague who is a Buckeye, he didn't realize how small Clemson was from an enrollment standpoint. This got me thinking about the crowds in Tampa and the number of Tiger fans that didn't get tickets into the game.

I started trying to estimate how many active alumni Clemson has right now and then went to Clemson Alumni page. Clemson by their count have 136,000 alumni. If you figure almost 40K Clemson fans had game tickets and a whole azzload didn't get in that would tell you a LOT of the Clemson family was in Tampa and at a home game with 80K fans near to 50% of alumni are at the game.

Just kinda blew my mind. Go Tigers!

are my 2 nephews who were with me are either. Clemson's fanbase is much larger than just its alumni.

Agreed. I was there with family and friends. Atleast 8 of us not alumni out of 12.

My late Father and two uncles were grads. I did not get to Tampa, but in South Carolina, especially a native, you are one or the other. Out of 4.8 million residents Tiger fans stand out. Having been an IPTAY member and a fan I follow Clemson and I am not alone.
