One interesting thing will be if national companies will be a part of this. For example would Coca Cola use Georgia Tech or Georgia players in ads since they are an Atlanta company? Would picking a side be a risk of Coke losing the support of 26 other ACC and SEC schools and their fans? I think the Miami booster may be a good example of what we might see because it is small scale for each player. The idea that Arch Manning or any other player could earn millions just seems very far fetched.

Why exactly do you disagree with NIL? Is a person's likeness not their own? Do they not have an intrinsic right to profit from their own person?

They don’t like it because it’s different and a change and is going to effect them they believe but like it or hate it they’ll just be the ones complaining while it changes in front of them anyways. Move out the way if you’re not willing to move with the times these athletes bring in billions for the school how long did you think the fake “they get an education” for pay was going to go on while they pull in insane money for schools. I’m scared of the can of worms it will bring but it’s inevitable so learn to adapt or turn off your tv like you’re pretending you’ll do.

Let's be honest, they dislike it because the status quo has Clemson on top and this disrupts the status quo. They're just disguising it behind faux concern for "the kids".

Are the players bringing in all of this insane money or is it the schools that are paying insane amounts of money on facilities and coaches to be able to attract the best players to their school? Which came first?

if there was a way to do it with common sense then

i'd be all for it. But this is about to become a free-for-all. Sleazeball business guys looking to make a dollar are salivating at exploiting these kids. they'll be so many lawsuits filed against schools for banning these business agents from campus that it will sour college athletics and turn it into just more greed and fraud. ITs just not gonna work.
Unfortunately I've got a feeling this will be where Dabo has his fill and looks to move on. He already said it once. I give him 4 more years in this new paying players system. He'll get fed up with it. Because it will morph into making money instead of team building and playing to win a football game. We'll be hiring a business CEO as coach in 4 years to deal with all the business deals and marketing campaigns for these players.

Ah yes. The fictitious horrible, predatory, sleazy businessmen exploiting the players by......paying them for their endorsement. How terrible...

get that. I just feel lucky that I got to see Clemson beat Bama for those 2 nat'l titles when nobody thought it was possible. I'm good. I will die happy. I saw all 3 nat'l titles. Whatever happens from here on out will not faze me in the least. It's all about to get turned upside down, and I just don't care.
If the recruitment of Korey Foreman last year didn't get your attention, you were asleep. The #1 player in the nation was committed to Clemson. Then Sou Cal put together a Zoom presentation of what the NIL money would be in Hollywood. $$$. You can google the story. Boom, he flipped to Sou Cal. Of course.
17 year old kids with millions dangled in their face. Goodbye college football, it was nice knowing ya.

NIL, Clemson, and IPTAY ......
Jul 7, 2021, 9:00 AM

Clemson is in a rural part of the country. No big businesses here to hand out significant money for Ads, apparel, etc... My fear is that IPTAY will suffer due to this. Why? Because the heavy donors who currently give significant dollars to IPTAY are gonna have to start diverting those fund to car dealerships, etc.... so that the money can be used to pay those 4 and 5 star recruits. If not, watch those recruits start to gravitate towards schools in large Metropolitan areas where marketing exposure can afford bigger paydays for them. In 5 years look for Georgia Tech to land a bunch of 4 and 5 star athletes. Laugh all you want, but it's coming. Very few of these players make it to the NFL. College will become their primary source of income for 4 years and they know it. If not, the marketing gurus will convince them of it.

This pretty much says it all...

"How much do businesses and corporations love college football players in Alabama? We’re about to find out. For schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, USC, Oregon, Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State, finding money for endorsement deals isn’t going to be a problem. For poorer states, it might be time to get creative. Or else."
This absolutely will create a culture of recruits going to the highest bidder or signing with the schools that can offer the biggest pay day, and if you don't think this is going to lead to the ruination of college football, you're kidding yourself.
