I don’t see the need for him either. Peña is a 2024 recruit. The middle infielders coming in are Samuel Stafura (most likely pro bound) Jarren Purify and Tryston Mcladdie

Clemson has a long track record of recruiting SS talent and playing them at other positions.
He's probably in play for every position on the roster with the exception of 1st Base, Pitcher, and Catcher.

Reckless hit the nail on the head. The approach is that if you are athletic enough to play SS, you’re athletic enough to play anywhere except for the positions that require a different skill set (P, C, 1B).

You build great baseball teams up the middle. Catcher, SS, 2nd, and CF. I haven't seen the arm talent from Cam to make him a MLB prospect at SS. He could surprise me, but I don't think he was a highly rated SS in HS. He would be a MLB prospect at 2nd but that would be squandering his elite speed. CF is where he needs to be to project in the pros. He's going to put on some more muscle mass this offseason which should lead to more power at the plate. Couple that with his bat plane, ability to hit to all fields, and his ability to square up any pitch; and he will be a first-round pick in CF.

that needs to be on the field all the time. DH would not be utilizing him to the fullest potential.

… NC State series. You were dragging your tail and had pretty much thrown in the towel for the season and for Coach Bakich.
Instead, the guys went 4-0 that week, and turned the entire season around.
I’m not saying you don’t know baseball, but you do seem to shoot from the hip a lot and you have been wrong at least as much as you’ve been right.
But, that he nature of a college sports message forum.
Go Tigers!

I’ve been wrong just a couple times. I’ve been right plenty. There’s a reason Clemsonsportstalk published my preseason baseball article where I predicted we could win 42+ plus games. I didn’t hear one single fan other than me predict that

I love how you point to one negative prediction instead of the million times I said to hang in with this ball club. What a joke

As long as he doesn’t make any errors in a regional to cost us a game, I will be satisfied.
