Blue Devils topple Tigers late, Clemson awaits postseason bid
Duke went on an 11-4 run after Clemson closed to within one at 69-68 with 2:51 to play, and the fifth-seeded Blue Devils overcame 12th-seeded Clemson’s gritty start in defeating the Tigers 79-72 Wednesday in the second round of the ACC Tournament at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. NIT isn't anything to get fired up about & in BB's 6th year I think more should be expected.

I'll settle for no post season and a new coach.

Could not agree more. I think what happens next tells us whether this AD expects to have a quality basketball program or to just put 5 players on the court.

Who is to blame for this loss? For me it is between DeVoe, Thomas, and the coaching staff

The NIT is as important as a random women's college soccer game. The season is over. This was almost a rrally good team. They played with heart. I am proud of their effort this season.

Grantham didn't score yet again. For a guy who was counted on to be a scorer, he has been a no show. NIT? Really. Let's call it a season and move on. I'm tired of hearing Brownell talking about the team's toughness.

Brad seemed very confident in that video. Knows he will be back next year.

Fire the coach. I don't care about the NIT. I mean what has brownell done since coming to clemson. His only high point was an NCAA tournament win with Oliver Purnell's players. Get this guy out of there. We need a real coach.

Brad has done his best and it wasn't good enough for Clemson University. It is not personal at all, it is business. Bye bye Brad and best of luck in your future endeavors. Radokovich will do the right thing. He's proven this and I'm sure he's right in line with all of our thinking. It's time. Perhaps past time. Go Tigers! Go! Fight! Win!!!

If this were football, Brad would have been gone a couple years ago. IMO, DRad should make the move that's been a couple years in the making. We gambled on a mid-major coach and it hasn't paid off. No hard feelings. Move on. If there were at least signs of progress like we saw with Dabo over the first few years of his tenure, it would be different, but this team seems to have plateaued.

Please give us the name(s) of the next mid-major coach/coaches you want to gamble on.

I wasn't insinuating that I knew of a better one to gamble on and I'm sorry you misinterpreted what I was trying to say. Nothing against Mid-Major coaches. Not saying we go hire a wash-up from a bigger program. I just expect more than what we've seen from Brownell's teams thus far and I think it's time to move on. DRad gets paid a lot of money to improve our athletic programs and this one isn't improving.

Clemson should not play this close with Duke. Duke has McDonalds All Americans sitting on the bench. Its hard to recruit basketball players to Clemson. Clemson's historical best players were all late bloomers that our coaches deleloped... Trevor Booker, Dale Davis, Horace Grant, Larry Nance grew from 6'6 to 6'11. Clemson's McDonalds All Americans Clarke Bynum 1980(C'mon Man!) Michael Brown 1984(C'mon Man!) Ricky Jones 1986 Sharon Wright 1991 Milton Jennings 2009 (C'mon Man!) Maybe Tree Rollins?
I liked Oliver Purnell but his style of defense does not win in March. If Brownell could get get 1 local McDonalds AA type it would change the program. What if KJ McDaniels had stayed?
I am just saying Brownell does things the right way. His strategy is solid. His players like him. He is doing a hell of a job to scrap the Great Rat Face Coach K when Duke has their pick of whatever players they want.

To a certain degree, I agree with you. However, the quality of the program has steadily declined. My assessment is he needs to go. We have a great soccer, football, track and field and baseball program at Clemson. Now we need a quality basketball program.
Brownell has had his chance and more chances than I can count. Don't get me wrong, I think highly of Coach Brownell for his character, will to win and the strict standards that he holds his young players to, but it's just not equating to wins.
A change has to be made...
