New ACC Protected Yearly Matchups...

"Eleven of the 16 protected games have been retained from the current model. Miami-Virginia Tech and NC State-Wake Forest are restored from the previous divisional format, while Cal, Stanford and SMU will all play each other.

The annual protected matchups are: Boston College-Syracuse, Boston College-Pitt, Syracuse-Pitt, North Carolina-Virginia, North Carolina-Duke, North Carolina-NC State, NC State-Wake Forest, NC State-Duke, Duke-Wake Forest, Virginia Tech-Virginia, Florida State-Clemson, Miami-Florida State, Miami-Virginia Tech, Stanford-Cal, Stanford-SMU, and Cal-SMU."




SMH...I'm sure NCST wants to play Duke and Wake instead of Clemson. GT doesn't even get a protected matchup. 2 of the 5 lost protected matchups were Clemson games.

It is not fair to the charter members such as Clemson that they only have one protected rivalry. Leadership is failing. I hate that we gave up Clemson for Wake and Dook...

NCST has played Clemson more than Duke in football (More than any other teams but Wake and UNC). Clemson has played NCST more than ANY team not named South Carolina. It's an annual football rivalry game with a Trophy (One of FEW in the ACC).

Clemson has played NCST 91 times.
Clemson has played GT 90 times.


This is ridiculous.
