I just told a Tarheel fan yesterday that next week is going to be rough. I gotta pull for the Tarholes and a yankee team!! He said, "Man that goes against everything you stand for!!"

I’ll never pull for the Heels. That said, I understand Mack Brown

is coaching some team against Dave Doeren. I do like Mack more than Dave, so I hope Mack has some success…with whatever team he’s coaching.

you've forgotten the Bowden years already?
My consolation is that Dabo hasn't changed his drive to develop players in the early part of the season(s) but remains faithful to the vision of building and maintaining a program rather than spending it all on one season. That is evident by the production of our bench which would not be so had Dabo not allowed them to play and fail so as to learn.
This season isn't as good as the last five or six but we're still in the best run of my lifetime and I'm older than Methuselah now. We're going to finish strong, typical of a Dabo coached Clemson team.

You are not so old if you graduated in 1988. Having graduated in 1950 I have seen many seasons where we would have been so happy with an 8-3 record.

Dabo has accomplished a lot of great things at Clemson. But I think it is unfair to throw Tommy Bowden under the bus. He accomplished many positive things while at Clemson. One was what he saw in Dabo and bring him to Clemson.
It is difficult to compare the Bowden years with Dabo’s time at Clemson. When Dabo became the official HC a lot more money was put into the football program. This allowed Dabo to hire better assistant coaches, improved recruiting and projects were finished that enhanced our football facilities.
Don’t get me wrong Dabo is a unique and special person. He brought energy and excitement to the program. But IMO TB left Dabo with a solid foundation to build on.
I think we should be grateful to both TB and Dabo’s contributions to the Success of the program.

A lot of that money to hire better assistants came from Dabo .

The OP made a statement which was exactly what we all felt during the Bowden years. I apologize if that is offensive but insist that it is true.
Dabo got a temp job here which was extended for a few years during which time he excited the base including IPTAY. His first recruiting class had 12 recruits. From there he began to load up on talent including linemen which we hadn't enjoyed since the Danny Ford years and we started taking down college football's blue bloods.
Frankly, there's no comparison between Tommy and Dabo. Tommy was justly fired, it was heartbreaking for most of us but most of us knew we needed a change of direction. These are statements of facts.

No, I have not forgotten the Bowden Era. He seemed to be satisfied with being Bowl Eligible.

Clemson to a degree has always sold itself, but Dabo is a great CEO and a solid coach, and he sold the whole school/admin/players/and BOD/Coaches he hired on his vision for or beloved Clemson and that is what has made this an extraordinary run that will continue as long as he is our coach. TB also had a vision but he could communicate that as well and he also was a solid coach but could not sell the program to the right people (see all the groups listed above). There are very few if anyone that can coach or mimich at the college level the way Dabo has done it.
